Chaotic Legions
"This is impossible! I've clearly killed you! Even a resurrection spell wouldn't work this quickly."
Kallen was filled with shock and anger. He pointed his longsword at the familiar Half-Dragon, but soon he was surprised to find that the bloodstains on the blade had disappeared, and the headless corpse from before had also vanished without a trace.
It revives immediately after being killed, and even its remains disappear.
Kallen couldn't help but recall her battles with demons, and how those Abyssal Devil were also summoned back to the Abyss and resurrected if they were killed in the Material Plane.
His throat bobbed, and he couldn't help but ask, "What exactly are you?!"
Steel Frenzy blurted out, "I'm your father! You bastard, you actually attacked me from behind when I wasn't looking, you're utterly shameless!"
Then, a smug smile appeared on his face as he took out eight metal balls and held them all between his fingers.
"However, this time, I have made full preparations. I spent several thousand experience points to exchange for the Quick Resurrection, so I can't waste this opportunity."
So—die, birdman!
With a confident shout, Steel Frenzy threw out all the metal balls in his hand. Accompanied by ripples in space and the swirling arcs of electricity, these metal balls suddenly unfolded in mid-air.
Seven of the metal spheres released various War Machine developed by the Church of the Machine God, including Floating Turret, Armed Robot, and Combat Mechanical Hound, which surrounded the Angel Divine Descendant.
Finally, the metal sphere released a massive Arcane Armor nearly ten meters tall. Steel Frenzy Tide leaped into the cockpit, letting out a wild laugh, accompanied by a cacophony of mechanical voices. "Birdman, are you afraid? Hahaha, ignorant primitive man, tremble before the mechanical iron fist of the God of All Machines!"
Kallen remained calm, surveying the surrounding machinery, and said softly, "Such exquisite magical devices, but they're just clever toys."
"Toys? Foolish natives, then I'll show you what they're really made of!" Steel Frenzy shouted defiantly, then pressed the button.
Instantly, the Electromagnetic Cannon on the left arm of the Arcane Armor accumulated terrifying lightning, and with a deafening roar as the air exploded, a thick Lightning Beam shot out, striking the distant Angel Divine Descendant.
Immediately afterwards, the surrounding Floating Turret unleashed a barrage of light bullets and launched terrifying Electromagnetic Bomb, while the machine guns beneath them continuously spewed flames.
In an instant, light particle bombs, Electromagnetic Bomb, Lightning Beam, and combat machines surrounded the Angel Divine Descendant from all directions, forming a vast and inescapable net, creating a truly spectacular scene.
However, Kallen simply gripped the longsword tightly with both hands and plunged it into the ground.
"Whoosh—"
In an instant, the hemispherical shield made of light spread out rapidly, blocking everything around it. Whether it was light bullets, lightning or bombs, they were all completely annihilated.
Steel Frenzy stared wide-eyed at the Angel Divine Descendant had drawn his sword in the distance, and couldn't help but exclaim, "Holy crap?"
The Armed Robot swung the light blades on its arm and charged forward, while the mechanical hounds soared into the air and charged toward the Angel Divine Descendant like missiles.
"Awooo—"
"Mortal, do you think that by killing my comrade by luck you are qualified to challenge a true descendant of a god?"
Kallen sneered, not even turning her head, and simply swung her longsword at a speed imperceptible to the naked eye.
"Buzz—Boom!"
A flash of white light streaked past, as if cutting through the air, and the surrounding robots and mechanical hounds were all cleaved in two and exploded in mid-air.
"No, this guy is way too strong."
Gazing at the machines that were easily smashed to pieces, and staring at the three question marks above the Angel Divine Descendant's head, Steel Frenzy felt a sense of foreboding rising within him.
Because they couldn't see the information, Steel Frenzy knew that the opponent's Challenge Rating was at least 15, or even higher.
However, he had just killed a level 15 Angel Divine Descendant by chance and was in a state of overconfidence. Steel Frenzy believed that his mechanical creations could make up for the mere five-level gap.
But Steel Frenzy was unaware that his opponent's Challenge Rating was 21, a full 10 levels higher than his, and the difference between them was simply enormous.
As a Marquis of Holy Fadlan, Kallen is an absolute standout among the Angel Divine Descendant. He reached the Legendary level during his Ascension decades ago, and even once reached the pinnacle of Legendary status.
Even though Kallen Karen gradually weakened and lost much of his power after the Great Collapse of the Holy Fadlan, he remained an absolute legendary powerhouse, an existence that mortals could only dream of.
Steel Frenzy watched as the Angel Divine Descendant approached him step by step, and with trembling hands pressed the "Emergency Protection" button.
"Whoosh—"
A barrier shimmering with light and arcs of electricity appeared before him, completely enveloping the Arcane Mech.
This barrier was strong enough to withstand Fifth Circle Spell, but it offered no protection to the Steel Frenzy —for the Angel Divine Descendant had already flapped their wings and ascended into the sky, their longswords gleaming brightly.
"Boom!"
A golden-red pillar of fire descended from the sky, instantly piercing through the barrier and penetrating the entire Arcane Mech.
"My armor—"
Before the Steel Frenzy in the cockpit could finish its lament, it was reduced to ashes by the pillar of fire, leaving not even a trace.
"Infinite resurrection. Even the Greater God gods cannot easily achieve this. Just who are these guys?"
Kallen stared expressionlessly at the pile of charred scrap metal. He knew that things were not over, and the other party would likely be resurrected soon.
—Because he could only see the man's heartache over the destroyed equipment in his eyes, but he could not see any desire to survive.
Kallen then looked at the increasingly chaotic battlefield, where those dragon-scaled creatures were frantically slaughtering the allied soldiers, tearing holes in the positions.
What's even more despicable is that, faced with the allied soldiers who were fighting to the death to defend their homeland and who deserved everyone's respect, these Evil Dragon Kin treated the battle like a game and even committed extremely insulting acts.
"Sizzle—"
With a crisp sound and splattering blood, the Dragon Scale Monk laughed wildly, tearing a terrified allied soldier in half. Ignoring the blood on his face, he muttered, "Those amazing feats in those dramas actually happen! As long as you have enough strength, you can tear a person in half!"
"Holy crap, that's awesome! I'll try it out later."
"You bastard, leave me some points! Stop wasting them, you've almost wiped out all the allied soldiers nearby!"
"Can't you go to another area? You have tens of thousands of soldiers, and you insist on competing with me for this little bit? Get out of here."
Witnessing their horrifying behavior and listening to their unbridled conversation, the Angel Divine Descendant gripped his longsword and roared in fury, "Damn Evil Dragon Kin! They're humiliating our soldiers!"
"Whoosh—"
Kallen spread his wings, his eyes blazing with fire, and transformed into a blur as he swooped down toward the Dragon Scale Monk.
Just then, a fire dragon soared into the sky and rushed towards him, coiling around the body of the Angel Divine Descendant, forcing him to flap his wings and dodge.
"Fadlanites, your opponent is me."
Ashes danced in the air, and the dragon's might filled the air.
A girl with dragon horns on her forehead floated in mid-air, her long crimson hair dancing wildly in the air, and incredibly wide Dragon Wing that seemed disproportionate to her slender and tall figure spread out behind her.
Her face was radiant, and her Golden Vertical Pupils flickered with firelight, revealing an extraordinary coldness and killing intent—like a hunter eyeing its prey.
This was none other than Misha, the Dragon Blood Marquis of the Embers of the Burned Empire, the master of the Karma Fire Tower, and the chief Dragon Pact Sorcerer.
Kallen narrowed her eyes, gazing at the delicate-faced girl, sensing the unimaginable, immense energy contained within her slender body.
He clearly saw a proud Red Dragon spread its wings and roar! Kallen sneered and said in a low voice, "I was just thinking, how can a young girl who is not even twenty years old have such an aura?"
The next moment, he suddenly raised his eyes, his gaze sharp, and shouted, "So—it's a dragon in human skin!"
The Angel Divine Descendant flapped its wings, stirring up a violent gale, then thrust forward with its divine sword, tearing through the air and swooping down towards Misha with overwhelming flames.
"The self-righteous Fadlanites"
Misha was not afraid. She flapped her Dragon Wing, hovered in the air, and stretched out her hand, aiming at the Angel Divine Descendant in the distance.
Instantly, scales appeared on the Dragonfire Daughter's cheeks and forehead, flames and thick smoke swirled around her, and her palms accumulated energy as hot as the sun.
At this moment, compared to the Angel Divine Descendant swooping down, Misha seemed more like a favored one of the Sun God.
"Boom--"
The pent-up energy poured out, and a blazing pillar of fire instantly ripped through the sky, tearing a crimson wound in the heavens as it hurtled towards the Angel Divine Descendant.
The heatwave generated by the high temperature caused the air to distort and burst, even turning the surrounding sky golden red.
Kallen frowned, then suddenly flapped his wings and ascended at an incredible speed, almost vertically to the ground, narrowly avoiding the bombardment of the pillar of fire.
Taking advantage of the moment when Misha released her Dragon Breath, the Angel Divine Descendant soared through the sky once more, swinging his longsword at an unimaginable speed.
"Whoosh—"
The longsword pierced the air, but there was no sense of reality. Kallen's expression changed drastically. It turned out that he had only struck an illusion made of flames. The real Misha had already teleported behind him.
Several fireballs streaked through the air along the trajectory of the Angel Divine Descendant, causing violent explosions that sent charred feathers raining down from the sky.
Soon, several more Flame Teleportation Gate appeared in mid-air, from which Dragon Pact Sorcerer flew out and besieged Kallen.
A blinding explosion occurred high in the sky, with dazzling flames spanning hundreds of meters, a roaring fire dragon soaring into the sky, and scorching air waves stirring up the clouds. Two figures darted through the blaze of light, a sight that was breathtaking.
"Boom!"
The deafening Earth-Shattering caused the allied forces on the ground to involuntarily raise their heads and focus their gaze on the sky.
This was a battle between legendary powerhouses; it wouldn't be an exaggeration to call it a natural disaster. Even the aftershocks of the battle were enough to easily destroy mortal soldiers.
The once- Embers of the Burned Empire was severely lacking in mid-to-high-level personnel, and when faced with legendary-level enemies, only Emperor Keosius could personally deal with them.
Now, the Embers of the Burned Empire, having fully absorbed the Anzeta Great Wasteland and possessing numerous interdimensional colonies, is powerful enough that its army can rival the once-renowned Angel Divine Descendant Legion.
The battle in the sky remained fierce, with towering fire clouds constantly churning as more imperial Dragon Blood Noble and Celestial Being joined the fray. Meanwhile, on the ground, another special group of players began their advance.
A pungent, acrid smell filled the air, Hellfire burst forth from the cracks in the ground, accompanied by a cacophony of noisy cries.
"Holy crap, you're so ugly, you look like Giant Corpse."
"What do you know? This is called the Bloated Demonic Body. You're about the same, okay? Compared to your strength, your looks are nothing!"
"This little quaint thing is really something; you know what, the longer you look at it, the more attractive it becomes. I want to..."
"A person's XP can be grounded in reality, but it cannot be grounded in the underworld, no, it must be grounded in Hell!"
"The devil in my head said that as long as I offer him the soul of Angel Divine Descendant, he can get me a Succubus!"
"Really? We'll have to strike hard now!"
These players were surrounded by a dark, evil aura, their exposed skin was engraved with twisted, blood-red runes, and tattered bat wings grew from their backs.
These players came in all sorts of bizarre appearances. Some looked like bloated, stitched-up fat men; others resembled alluring and beautiful women; and still others, wielding Steel Fork and with red skin, were the most classic devilish figures. They were the players who had made a pact with the devil, and were officially called the "Embers of the Burned Hell Legion" by the Empire.
These players, who were practically demons, swarmed into the Allied positions with eerie screams, bringing utter disaster.
They burned the allied positions with Hellfire, severed soldiers' arms and legs with machetes, riddled soldiers' bodies with barbed chains, pierced soldiers' hearts with coccyx-like skeletons, and some even used charm to make large numbers of soldiers lose their minds. The players possessed the abilities of demons, but were far more chaotic and disorderly than demons, and their use of these abilities was far more imaginative.
With tens of thousands of Hell Fighter joining the battle, the scales of victory have completely tipped.
On the main battlefield, artillery fire continued to bombard, while steel behemoths and Dragon Scale Monk brutally tore through the defensive lines. Behind them, imperial infantry advanced the battle line in an orderly manner, dividing and encircling the allied forces, annihilating them in their entirety.
Meanwhile, the Hell Legion, the Undead Legion, the Fire Elemental Legion, and other flanking forces of the Embers of the Burned Empire launched frenzied attacks on the weak points of the long battle line, bringing fear and panic to the enemy.
"Boom!"
Another shell hurtled toward Collins City, exploding in mid-air, but was blocked by the light barrier created by the Arcane Legion.
Standing atop the Collins City, Walter surveyed the entire battlefield. He saw the continuous explosions, the angels falling from the sky, and the retreating Allied troops. The former "Wings of Fadlan" frowned and sighed softly.
"The bloodline of dragons, terrifyingly powerful weapons, and even a pact with Hell —I never imagined that the military strength of the Embers of the Burned Empire would develop to this extent in just ten years."
Beside him, the Golden Dragon dragon, also coiled on the city wall, flapped its wings and said anxiously, "Duke Walter, it's time to make a move! The allied forces are about to succumb to the Embers of the Burned Legion's offensive!"
"No, Titus."
Walter shook his head firmly and refused, saying, "I know you are eager to help the Allied Forces, but compared to the Embers of the Burned Legion, their emperor—that Red Dragon —is the biggest threat."
As you can see, this Red Dragon is not only brutal and powerful, but also as cunning and treacherous as a venomous snake. We must not make the first move before it reveals itself.
Titus retorted, his voice trembling with emotion, "Are we just going to stand by and watch the Allied forces perish, and watch these ruthless villains turn North Aisel into scorched earth?"
At this moment, the Golden Dragon looked extremely agitated, with even its gills standing on end. It paced back and forth, causing the city walls to tremble.
"No, Titus, just as you said, the long night will eventually give way to dawn, and justice and order will ultimately prevail."
Duke Walter raised his head and looked towards the horizon, towards the undulating hills. His golden eyes shone brightly, revealing a resolute light.
Now that things have come to this, he has no way out.
