"Drug them?"
Master Gravi's tone was puzzled. "You mean relying on alchemical potions? But this is the sea, and the enemy numbers several thousand sea beasts... Though not all of them are Magic Beasts, the strength of their swarm is still comparable to several fleets."
"The torrential rain and waves will dilute your potions. Whether poison or damaging agents, they will be difficult to make effective. Ian, this is very difficult."
"You have the wrong idea."
Yet Ian was extremely confident. "I don't intend to attack them with poison... I merely want to give those sea beasts' sensory systems a little help."
"Help them find their true desires."
Ian and Master Gravi left the room and soon headed straight for the deck of the Siren. Along the way, they saw quite a few crewmen and guard knights moving busily about. Most were at their battle stations, fighting the sea beasts that were constantly drawing closer.
It was currently pouring rain. The space between sea and sky was pitch-black, while countless shadows lurked and writhed beneath the tides.
Amid violent pulses of Origin Matter, surging columns of water and Water Blades approached the Siren from beneath the waves. Above the sea, powerful members of the swarms stirred the wind and rain, condensing endless seawater into icy shells and hurling them toward the Siren.
In response, hexagonal grid-patterned shields rose around the Siren. These were city-defense shields normally used to protect cities. With the strategic-grade alchemical furnace carried by the Siren, the city-defense shields could be driven at full power for over three hours without affecting propulsion. Three hours was enough to hold out until the fleets surrounding the Empire and Canaanmore arrived.
As long as Captain Alden could hold back the other three Heartlight Magic Beasts, the Siren could protect itself
