The moment the Giant Bug collided with the skull, its enormous belly split open. Countless smaller bugs flew out, ignoring the flames on the skull as they engulfed it and began devouring it.
Just then, all the bugs vanished at once, as though they had never existed. The skull continued hurtling toward Malebolgia.

Malebolgia immediately recognized what the skull really was. Simply put, it was a skull imbued with the power of time. Any other being that came into contact with it would immediately undergo Time Reversal.
The bugs had only just been born, so once time reversed, they naturally vanished. None of the killing moves that were supposed to follow had a chance to activate.
"Damn it, how can the Mechanical Demon King be so lucky? He just happened to create something that counters my killing move."
