Chthon said something even he himself did not believe, then continued, "Fine. This is indeed only a little difficult for me. I'll help you accomplish it.
"However, The Intermediary, if you have any plans, I suggest you tell me. The Mechanical Demon King is clearly setting you up. Only by pooling our wisdom can we better fight him."
"Chthon, even though you're a Demon God, don't you find that disgusting?"
The Intermediary sneered first, then said impatiently, "Enough. Start already. Once this is done, I'll immediately give you the method to break the curse."
How could The Intermediary not know what Chthon was thinking? In the past, he might have humored him with empty pleasantries. Now, he could not be bothered.
Hearing The Intermediary's words, Chthon was somewhat displeased. Though he did intend to scheme against The Intermediary, he also genuinely wanted to help him. He did not want The Intermediary to become insane; otherwise, they would lose a teammate and gain an enemy.
"The Intermediary's current state is like a bomb that could explode at any time. What a nuisance."
Chthon shook his head and began working with The Intermediary to replicate Wade. During the process, he secretly arranged schemes several times, intending to tamper with Wade's new body, but The Intermediary saw through him every time.
Though The Intermediary rebuked Chthon each time, Chthon did not care at all. He would agree readily on the surface, then continue next time. He was doing it for the greater good, for The Intermediary's sake. Chthon was right, of course.
What frustrated Chthon was that after several attempts, The Intermediary had seen through every one of them. He was secretly alarmed. The Intermediary's current strength seemed greater than he had estimated.
