Hong Ying carried A-Yi on her back and charged into the camp. Before she could find the campgrounds, she suddenly saw a vast mass of soldiers rushing toward them.
Just from the formation, there was no end in sight.
Then came the sound of footsteps, shaking Jiuer's chest with stabbing pain.
A-Yu had said that ten people could form a Thousand Men Strength Formation. How many people were there in front of them?
About ten thousand, perhaps?
Jiuer was somewhat afraid, but Hong Ying remained very composed. She spotted one detail: these people's armor was uneven and incomplete.
"Caught in a hasty fight, they shouldn't be able to form a proper formation!" Hong Ying strode straight toward the enemy ranks and shouted at A-Yi, "Blow them up!"
A-Yi wore an excited smile as she kneaded a pack of explosives and hurled it out.
This one flew very far. The explosives detonated behind the enemy army, making the earth tremble as a great cloud of blood instantly rose into the air.
Over a thousand soldiers were blown to death on the spot, while the wounded were too numerous to count. Flying flesh and blood scattered like rain. The soldiers in the front ranks descended into chaos; some retreated, some stopped, and some still gritted their teeth and charged ahead.
Watching them shove, collide, and trample one another, Hong Ying understood.
"They're all greenhorns. They've never fought a war!" Hong Ying abruptly changed direction instead of charging into the formation. She was avoiding the explosives' killing range.
A-Yi understood perfectly. She threw explosives toward different sections of the formation, and detonations rose one after another. A formation of more than ten thousand men became a sea of blood in the blink of an eye.
The first enemy unit was nearly wiped out.
