Background / History

The Life Background Editor initially explains that Xu Yi may exchange Emotion Points for identity backgrounds, skills, and various rewards. His earliest recorded gains come from the impatience, tension, anger, and confusion of people around him. 1

Negative Emotion Points are explicitly identified after Xu Yi exploits his roommates’ fear and discomfort following Yu Shu’s departure. He regards accumulating them as more valuable than relying on his uncle’s position, since greater earnings let him advance through the System faster. 9

Xu Yi increasingly treats other people’s anger, embarrassment, jealousy, pain, and frustration as a renewable resource. His pranks, verbal provocation, public displays of status, livestreams, and confrontations routinely produce large returns. 10 30 86 116
