She really did go and tell on me.

There'd been a lot going on these past few days, and I didn't want Mrs. Kaguya hovering around me all the time, so I'd kept her locked in the little black room. Now I was getting what I deserved.

"I know." The Young Lady clearly didn't believe her claim that I'd been bullying her. "Mom, go watch TV over there."

"Y-You're so mean!" Mrs. Kaguya clutched her chest and put on a wounded expression. "Your mother's been bullied, and all Little Kaguya can think about is cuddling up to a boy. Now that you have a boyfriend, Mom isn't important anymore, is she?"

The Young Lady's pretty face flushed, and she couldn't help shouting:

"Mom, what are you talking about?!"

What boyfriend? It only counted once he'd formally confessed and they were dating!

As they spoke, Maid Hayasaka came over carrying a watermelon.

Natsuki and Kaguya each had a slice of watermelon, and before long, the Young Lady was busy again.

"President, I still have some things to take care of, so I'll have to leave for a little while..." Shinomiya Kaguya rose to her feet and spoke softly. "I'll have Hasaka take you to change. You can tell her if you have any requests."

At that, Natsuki glanced at Maid-chan and said, without giving anything away:

"Go take care of your work. Hasaka can handle things."

Hayasaka Ai bowed slightly, her tone composed.

"Natsuki-classmate, formal attire is required for the banquet. The Young Lady has already prepared an outfit for you... Would you like to change now?"

Because of the hot weather, Natsuki was only wearing a short-sleeved shirt and jeans. He really wasn't dressed for a banquet.
