Arc 24The Black Calamity Front
Murphy built Transia’s alliances and defenses as gnoll forces pressed toward Blackflame Pass and Bloodflag Heights. Triss and Nefertari uncovered Xike City’s impending transformation, while the battered player legions held the front against successive assaults.
- Sulk Flywheel agreed to lead the Flywheel Consortium, trading factory support and prospecting help for a share of Murphy’s Goldfire profits and a search for the Dark Mountains’ riches.
- Murphy’s forces defeated gnoll riders near Shadowvale, and Julia warned him that the Baphomet cult planned to use the Nightmare Tyrant to reach the World Dream and kill Widia.
- Murphy brought reinforcements through Blackflame Pass, tasked Villancer with watching the goatfolk, and summoned players to confront the gnoll advance.
- The players and Transian forces repelled Popok’s attack at Bloodflag Heights, but successive gnoll assaults caused heavy losses as Qin and Happy Stick organized defenses and summoned support.
- Hogg warned the rulers that the fifth Black Calamity had begun, and Hadlan pledged the Brass Dwarves to the campaign against the evil god.
- Mirian asked Murphy for source blood so she could become a vampire and defend Transia, while Triss agreed to mentor Julia and help the Dark Roots join Transia.
- Murphy learned that Flywheel’s old relic had passed through Chardo Port and arranged a meeting with Little Bach, whom he suspected might be connected to Dusk.
- Nefertari discovered that Xike City’s dead were being driven toward vengeance as part of a ritual to create a lich and a Tomb Lord, and promised to delay it while Murphy and Triss hunted its source.
- Happy Stick’s Third Legion repelled a six-hour assault before Triss nearly destroyed the Filthy Claw Clan’s attackers, but Matriarch Cleawatch ordered the clan to hold while reinforcements came.
