Having said that, Pangu gripped the Sky-Opening Axe and cleaved down at Chaos. In an instant, Chaos began to split apart.
Clear Qi rose, while Turbid Qi sank.
Then the two currents of Qi began to close together again. Seeing this, Pangu swung his axe repeatedly, strike after strike without pause, continuously cleaving at Chaos.
Clear Qi continued rising, and Turbid Qi continued descending.
After a full forty-nine Measure Tribulations, Pangu was already exhausted. Even fighting the Chaos Demon Gods had not tired him this much.
He could no longer swing his axe. At that moment, Clear Qi and Turbid Qi began converging again. Pangu immediately held up Clear Qi with both hands and braced Turbid Qi beneath his feet, preventing them from joining together.
Thus, countless years passed.
At that moment, the Eye of the Great Dao suddenly appeared within Chaos, and bolts of Great Dao Divine Lightning struck toward Pangu and the Chaos Supreme Treasures.
Zhou Xiaoqin could do nothing as he watched the scene before him. He looked anxiously at Pangu, his face filled with worry.
"Great God Pangu..."
"There is no need to say more. I understand. The Great Dao has its own ordained fate. Supreme Origin beneath the Great Dao should never have been able to give birth to a Primordial Spirit.
"The Great Dao is utterly impartial. I inherited Creation Supreme and created the world, so I was never meant to survive. This tribulation was inevitable. Do not grieve for me.
"I am very happy to see the birth of the world once more, and even happier to have met you."
Zhou Xiaoqin was full of confusion. What about himself? Having fused with a wisp of Supreme Destiny, did that make him a Primordial Spirit born from the origin of Supreme Destiny? Was he also unable to survive, or did he have some mission of his own?
The Great Dao was utterly impartial. What price would he have to pay?
Before he could think further, Pangu's body began cracking after being struck again and again by the Great Dao Divine Lightning. At last, he collapsed.
His eyes transformed into the sun and moon, his neckbone became Zhou Mountain, his navel became the Blood Sea, and the rest of his body turned into the land. The Primordial World had finally appeared.
Clear Qi no longer sank and stabilized high in the sky, while Turbid Qi descended beneath the land.
The origin of the Star Demon God combined with Pangu's Dao Body to form the Zhou Tian Stars, while the origins of the other Chaos Demon Gods combined with Pangu's Dao Body and all merged into the Primordial World.
The Primordial World expanded once more. The heavens grew higher, and the seas broader.
"The heaven and earth I created shall be named the Prehistoric Era!"
Supreme Destiny suddenly appeared, and Great Dao Divine Lightning immediately struck Supreme Destiny. In an instant, a fragment of Supreme Destiny shattered away.
That fragment split into four pieces. The largest evolved into the Primordial Heavenly Dao and fled into the World Origin of the Primordial World.
Another transformed into countless streams of golden light and scattered throughout Chaos.
Another was struck by divine lightning into the freshly torn Chaos, vanishing to an unknown destination.
The final piece was drawn in by a River of Time and Space, then disappeared into Chaos.
Pangu's exhausted Primordial Spirit began to shatter, and the Eye of the Great Dao began bestowing countless Sky-Opening Merits.
Countless streams of Mysterious Yellow Qi and Primordial Qi rose between heaven and earth.
A wisp of Mysterious Yellow Qi combined with one-tenth of the Sky-Opening Merit and transformed into the postnatal merit supreme treasure, the Heaven and Earth Exquisite Pagoda;
A wisp of Primordial Qi combined with one-tenth of the Sky-Opening Merit and transformed into the postnatal merit supreme treasure, the Primordial Measuring Heaven Ruler.
Three strands of Clear Qi combined with a trace of Pangu's Primordial Spirit, swept up three-tenths of the Sky-Opening Merit and the Heaven and Earth Exquisite Pagoda, and flew toward the Primordial Land.
There had originally been Nine Sky-Opening Energies. The remaining six flew toward the newly born Prehistoric Starry Sky.
The Sky-Opening Axe shattered directly, transforming into the Three Sky-Opening Treasures.
The Innate Supreme Treasures, the Taiji Diagram, Pangu Banner, and Chaos Bell, flew into the Primordial World to suppress the four great origins of the Primordial Land.
The Jade Disc of Creation and the Chaos Green Lotus began to crack, slowly shattering apart. The Jade Disc of Creation scattered into countless fragments that flew in every direction.
Five Lotus Seeds flew out from the Chaos Green Lotus: one mature azure Lotus Seed that would eventually grow into the Twenty-Four Petaled Jade Green Lotus of Creation. (The Green Lotus of Creation inherited the greatest share of the Chaos Green Lotus's destiny.)
Of the four half-ripe Lotus Seeds of different colors, one was golden and would eventually grow into the Twelve-grade Golden Lotus of Merit.
One black seed grew into the World-Destroying Black Lotus, also known as the Black Water Black Lotus.
One pale red seed absorbed countless karmic sins and grew into the Karma Fire Red Lotus.
The final Yellow Lotus Seed crashed directly into the origin of the World-Purifying Demon God and should have become the World-Purifying White Lotus.
Without the World-Purifying Origin, it should have been the Earth Yellow Lotus. (This is just the author's own interpretation, so please do not argue too fiercely. Just read and enjoy.)
Five petals evolved into the Five Directions Innate Banners, each a Top-grade Innate Spiritual Treasure with forty-eight restrictions.
The Eastern Azure Lotus Treasure Banner and the Western Plain Cloud Boundary Banner.
The Central Wuji Apricot Yellow Banner.
The Southern Earth-Leaving Flame Light Banner and the Northern Xuanyuan Water Control Banner.
The entire Lotus Throne began to disintegrate. Its roots and stems split into two portions. One absorbed part of the origin of the Qiankun Demon God and evolved into the Innate Supreme Treasure, the Qiankun Cauldron;
The other fused with part of the origin of the Slaughter Demon God and later became the Innate Supreme Treasure, the God-Slaying Spear.
(Many people are uncertain whether the God-Slaying Spear is an Innate Supreme Treasure or a Heavenly Dao Exotic Treasure. Here, the author has chosen Innate Supreme Treasure.
There were no Heavenly Dao Exotic Treasures in the Primordial World. The Heavenly Dao was a manifestation of a fragment of Supreme Destiny and also represented Supreme Destiny.
Neither had fully been born yet, so where could the origin to evolve a Heavenly Dao Exotic Treasure have come from? If there were any, it would have been after Heavenly Dao Emergence. Therefore, the timeline does not match.)
Chaos Supreme Treasures: the Sky-Opening Axe, Chaos Green Lotus, Jade Disc of Creation, World-Destroying Millstone, and Chaos Pearl, each possessing fifty-five Chaos Restrictions.
Chaos Exotic Treasures: the Dao Coffin of Time and Space, Guixu Divine Palace, and Great Dao Prison Suppression Stele, each possessing fifty-four Chaos Restrictions. (Everyone, guess where the latter two came from. You can definitely guess one of them.)
Chaos Spiritual Treasures: the Companion Spiritual Treasures of the Chaos Demon Gods and the Spiritual Treasures nurtured within Chaos, possessing fifty to fifty-three Chaos Restrictions.
Innate Supreme Treasures: the Three Sky-Opening Treasures, Heaven and Earth Chessboard, Six Paths Reincarnation Disc, Qiankun Cauldron, Mysterious Yellow Mirror, God-Slaying Spear, Pangu Hall, Heaven-Suppressing Coffin, and so on.
(Other than the Three Sky-Opening Treasures, there were nine Innate Supreme Treasures in the Primordial World. Together, they made twelve, symbolizing perfection.) They possessed forty-nine Innate Restrictions.
Innate Spiritual Treasures: zero to twelve Innate Restrictions, Low-grade Innate Spiritual Treasures.
Thirteen to twenty-four, Mid-grade Innate Spiritual Treasures.
Twenty-five to thirty-six, High-grade Innate Spiritual Treasures.
Thirty-seven to forty-eight, Top-grade Innate Spiritual Treasures. (Among them, Innate Spiritual Treasures with forty-eight restrictions were few. Most Top-grade Innate Spiritual Treasures formed from the shattered Chaos Green Lotus had forty-eight restrictions.)
Then came Postnatal Spirit Treasures and supreme treasures. They were the same as Innate Spiritual Treasures, except they lacked Innate Undying Spiritual Light, could not repair themselves, and could not be used to comprehend Laws.
Spiritual Roots were further divided into Chaos Spiritual Roots, which were nurtured within Chaos or were the true bodies of Chaos Demon Gods.
The Supreme Grade Innate Spiritual Roots within the Primordial World were:
The Green Lotus of Creation. (A special existence. Because the Heavenly Dao did not allow it to fully mature out of fear of being suppressed, it was later split into three Top-grade Innate Spiritual Treasures.
It should originally have been a Chaos Spiritual Treasure with fifty Chaos Restrictions and should not be classified among Supreme Grade Innate Spiritual Roots.)
The Gourd Vine. (Suppressed by the Heavenly Dao and unable to survive.)
The Huangzhong Plum. (The remaining origin of a Chaos Spiritual Root. It was later affected by the Immortal-Demon War on Penglai Island, greatly weakening its effects.)
The Innate Ren Water Flat Peach. (After its origin was damaged, Hongjun enlightened it into the many peach trees of the Heavenly Court.)
The Ginseng Fruit Tree. (Part of its origin was damaged during the Dao-Demon War. It was later left only with the outcome of blooming once every three thousand years.)
The Five-Needle Pine. (It was struck into the chaotic currents during the Dao-Demon War, and its whereabouts were unknown.)
The Bodhi Tree. (Not Zhunti's, okay?) The Immortal Apricot. (Part of its origin was damaged during the Three Tribes War, causing it to fall to High-grade. Otherwise, how could Lei Zhenzi have dreamed of digesting the fruit of a Supreme Grade Innate Spiritual Root?)
The Fusang Wood. (It was overused by Di Jun and consumed too much of the Solar Star's origin during the Witch-Demon War.)
The Laurel Tree. (It shared the Fusang Wood's fate, was also schemed against by Changxi, and was continuously drained of the Lunar Star's origin by Wu Gang chopping at the laurel.)
The Bitter Bamboo. (It was refined into the Top-grade Innate Spiritual Treasure, the Six Roots Pure Bamboo.)
Look at these Supreme Grade Innate Spiritual Roots—not a single one met a good end. Either they were too heaven-defying and suppressed by the Heavenly Dao, or they were ravaged terribly by these heaven-and-earth Demon Gods or Innate Divine Beings.
There were still a certain number of High-Grade Innate Spiritual Roots in the Primordial World. This was Great God Pangu's gift to the Primordial World.
Pangu truly loved the Primordial World deeply. What a pity—such an excellent foundation, incomparable to that of other worlds, was ultimately depleted by the gods and Buddhas filling the heavens.
The Chaos Green Lotus split and evolved into far too many Innate Spiritual Treasures, along with the Innate Spiritual Treasures formed from the Companion Spiritual Treasures of the Chaos Demon Gods.
The Innate Spiritual Treasures of the Primordial World originally had a fixed number. The Top-grade Innate Spiritual Treasures numbered thirty-six, the Number of Heavenly Spirits.
The High-grade Innate Spiritual Treasures numbered seventy-two, the Number of Earthly Fiends; the Mid-grade Innate Spiritual Treasures numbered three hundred and sixty-five, the Number of Heavenly Perfection.
The Low-grade Innate Spiritual Treasures numbered one hundred twenty-nine thousand six hundred, the Number of Yuanhui. Yet now, they far exceeded this number. The foundation of the Primordial World had already vastly surpassed that of the newly opened Chaos Dao Realm.
(World levels: Sand-Grain World—Small World—Great World—Lesser Thousand World—Middle Thousand World—Greater Thousand World—Chaos Dao Realm—Eternal True Realm.)
Among Chaos Dao Realms, there was also a special kind of world: an Origin Dao Realm.
When the three paths of Heaven, Earth, and Humanity emerged together, it became an Origin Dao Realm. (The Primordial World was the only one.) Other worlds possessed only World Origin consciousness.
The remaining twelve drops of Pangu's Blood Essence swept up two-tenths of the Sky-Opening Merit and flew toward Zhou Mountain.
Just as Zhou Xiaoqin stared blankly at the Primordial World, the Green Lotus Seed separated off a small portion of its origin and sent it toward Zhou Mountain. The Lotus Seed itself flew directly toward Zhou Xiaoqin and merged into his Indestructible Primordial Spirit.
Xuan Qing, Xuan Qing. This Dao title truly had inherited part of the Chaos Green Lotus's legacy. Perhaps Great God Pangu had seen through his thoughts and deliberately bestowed it upon him.
All the other Spiritual Treasures flew into the Primordial World and vanished without a trace, waiting to become the Companion Spiritual Treasures of other living beings or beings yet to be born.
Zhou Xiaoqin could not help feeling deeply regretful at this sight. With so many Spiritual Treasures, not one had affinity with him. None of them thought highly of him.
That was not actually the case. The Dao Coffin of Time and Space had concealed his aura. Otherwise, it would not have been only the Green Lotus Seed that favored him. This was also one of Great God Pangu's methods.
The Dao Coffin of Time and Space suddenly emitted dazzling silver-gray radiance, swept up a fragment of Chaos, and carried him into the Primordial World.
At that moment, the Dao Coffin of Time and Space released the Great Dao's suppression and Zhou Mountain's suppression over the Primordial World.
Countless rampaging origins of earth, water, wind, and fire surged toward Zhou Xiaoqin, and he fainted immediately.
His final thought before losing consciousness was:
