Arc 17The Eastern and Netherworld Turmoil

Xuan Qing settled Kunwu’s Karma with the Western Teach and helped restore the Metal Bodhi Tree, while the Three Pure Ones separated and Tongtian reorganized the Jie Sect on Golden Ao Island. Meanwhile, Mosquito Daoist began corrupting the Western Lands’ Earth Veins, and Guang Chengzi’s misconduct in the Underworld ended with Houtu taking him to confront Yuanshi.

  • Xuan Qing negotiated with Zhunti and Jieyin, established Kunwu’s new identity as Patriarch Bodhi, and used the Seven Treasures Wonderful Tree branch to restore the Metal Bodhi Tree.
  • Yuanshi and Tongtian clashed over the deaths of Jie Sect disciples, and Tongtian and Laozi left Kunlun Mountain to establish their own sects.
  • Tongtian made Golden Ao Island the Jie Sect’s headquarters, accepted Gui Ling as a direct disciple, and welcomed gifts from Azure Nether Island and other visitors.

Arc 18The Human Calamity and Measure Tribulation

The Demon Clan’s slaughter of the Human Race stained its destiny with Karmic Sin, while Xuan Qing helped the Witch Clan take up the Natural Authorities and the Demon and Witch Clans moved toward war. The battle ended with Zhu Rong dead, the Witch Clan’s formation broken, and the conflict still raging.

  • Houtu expelled Guang Chengzi from the Netherworld and revoked the Chan Sect’s quota after he neglected his duties and tried to seize Qing Yue’s Dao Field.
  • Di Jun ordered the Demon Clan to slaughter humans and forge the Witch-Slaying Sword, and the massacres forced the Human Race to flee as Sui Ren Shi and the other leaders tried to protect them.
  • Laozi ended the calamity by ordering the Demon Clan out of the Primordial Land, while Di Jun used the human remains to make the Witch-Slaying Sword and the Demon Clan’s Auspicious Qi became stained with Karmic Sin.
  • Xi He sought Xuan Qing’s help, and Di Jun offered Mount Fangzhang to the Heavenly Dao in exchange for a chance to cleanse the Demon Clan’s Karmic Sin.

Arc 19After the Measure Tribulation

Xuan Qing defeated the forces threatening the Prehistoric Era, restored the dead, and arranged new homes and roles for the Witch, Demon, Dragon, Phoenix, and Kirin Clans. As the Human Race’s rise and new rulers took shape, Xuan Qing confronted Luohu over Di Jun’s future and prepared to leave after the Three Sovereigns were born and the Human Race stabilized.

  • The Ancestral Witches sacrificed their Origins in battle, Gonggong broke the Sky Dome, and Xuan Qing defended Zhou Mountain as the Saints and Chaos Demon Gods gathered against him.
  • Xuan Qing and his allies defeated Shenni’s forces, while Xuan Qing destroyed Shenni’s True Spirit and pursued the unknown power that had helped Karma escape.

Arc 20Rebuilding the Heavenly Court

Haotian and Yaochi rebuilt the nearly empty Heavenly Court by recruiting clans, immortals, and disciples while contending with the Saints’ attempts to divide its authority. The Court began operating under new Heavenly Dao rules, with Xuan Nü secretly appointed to protect its order.

  • Haotian secured the Three Tribes’ support, but Bai Ze withdrew the Demon Clan and Haotian struggled to stabilize the stars and staff the Heavenly Court.
  • Zhunti forced demons who left Demon Continent to join the Western Teach, while Bai Ze stayed behind with the remaining demons.
  • Kong Xuan broke free from the River of Destiny and later reunited with Ancestor Phoenix, while Bai Yu returned the Heavenly Horse Clan to its ancestral land.
  • At Haotian’s reopening banquet, Zhunti pressured the guests, but Bai Yu confronted him and protected the juniors of Azure Nether Island.
