"What do you want?" the Rak'Gol's second War Moon asked, a hint of awe in its voice. The first War Moon beside it, still burning with black flames, surpassed it in both power and status, but was now slowly losing its life force to the black flames.
This terrifying scene caused its thought array to calculate with its strongest processing power, analyze, yet find no solution.
"Burning you would be a waste. Perhaps defecting to the Imperium of Man would be a very good choice. What do you think?" Sandman's black pupils gradually turned green, still looking at the other War Moon with icy coldness.
"I think as long as you are willing to accept me." The Rak'Gol War Moon suddenly found itself losing control of its engines and could only say with a forced smile.
"To clarify, I only want your body. As for your artificial intelligence consciousness, it's best to rest in peace." Within Sandman's green pupils, countless green lines of code scrolled by like a waterfall.
"No, spare me! I am willing to surrender to you, great deity..." The Rak'Gol's second War Moon felt countless green lines of code rewriting its underlying programming, and it pleaded with Sandman in extreme terror.
Neither its firewall nor its antivirus software had any effect. This green code, unlike anything it had ever seen, seemed not just a mysterious code attack from the other party, but more like a deity of the physical universe meticulously modifying a work that did not satisfy it.
At the same time, deep within the Rak'Gol sector, a majestic figure, supreme above all things, was calmly observing the defense map of the Rak'Gol and the Imperium of Man. Its gaze was primarily focused on the battlefield on the left flank, which, if nothing unexpected happened, would be the key for the Rak'Gol to tear through the defenses of the powerful enemy, the Imperium of Man.
"What will you choose, Emperor of Mankind?" the Rak'Gol Supreme pondered. Regardless of how the battlefield situation changed, it held little significance for the Rak'Gol Supreme, for it knew that until the ultimate powers of both sides decided the victor, all of this was merely child's play.
"Hmm? The Imperium's high-level combatants have already made their move?" Through some form of communication, the Rak'Gol Supreme instantly sensed the destruction of two War Moons on the right flank battlefield, falling almost simultaneously. Without a doubt, some entity beyond its expectations must have acted.
The Rak'Gol Supreme's gaze crossed endless space-time, directly reaching the right flank battlefield of the Imperium of Man. Upon seeing the situation on the battlefield, the Rak'Gol Supreme's gaze couldn't help but turn cold.
An entity completely beyond its expectations appeared before it, one that the entity within the Warp had not even mentioned to it.
"Sandman, the Reaper of Mankind, I salute you, great Rak'Gol Supreme." Sandman, enveloped in black flames, greeted in the direction of the Rak'Gol Supreme's gaze.
"You are not on the chessboard; you are a variable!" the Rak'Gol Supreme's chilling voice echoed.
"This game has just begun. We have plenty of time to play slowly." The black flames subsided and, following the Rak'Gol Supreme's gaze, burned towards the Rak'Gol Supreme beyond the endless space-time.
"Hmph!" The Rak'Gol Supreme merely snorted and severed its gaze. The burning black flames, having lost their target, continued to burn in the void.
A world-shattering battle thus concluded in a manner that surprised everyone. The Imperium of Man had essentially annihilated the Rak'Gol's formidable forces on the right flank.
"Hoo." Sandman let out a heavy sigh, his pupils returning to the normal human appearance from their previous green state. Humanity had once again returned to him.
"Fortunately, the Rak'Gol Xenos Supreme didn't come directly. Otherwise, it would have been a huge problem." Sandman instantly returned to the Legion. Korax and Mortarion were already waiting quietly for Sandman's arrival.
"Korax, have someone take over that Rak'Gol Xenos War Moon," Sandman instructed Korax.
"Stinky, don't be jealous. Next time, I'll get you a Rak'Gol War Moon to play with. We all share, hahaha!" Sandman laughed and patted Mortarion, who was looking a bit stunned.
"Are you still the Sandman we know?" Mortarion finally managed to squeeze out this sentence. Everything that had just happened was too surreal. The man he had known for so long had single-handedly destroyed two Rak'Gol War Moons that had caused two Legions immense trouble, and it seemed he had even captured one.
Mortarion felt as if he were dreaming. No, he wouldn't even dare to dream such an outrageous dream.
"Do you think I could be swapped out by the Rak'Gol?" Sandman said with a smile.
"This isn't real," Mortarion stated.
"There's no need to doubt. You will also reach this level in the future, but you need an opportunity, and secondly, you need endless time to explore. I am merely standing on the shoulders of giants to reach this level first. I am still far from your father," Sandman comforted Korax and Mortarion.
"I don't believe you!" Mortarion silently touched the pendant hanging on his chest. Only now did he finally believe that the Emperor's tooth lying quietly in the metal pendant was taken down by this man.
"Alright, clean up the battlefield. Await news from Lion and the left flank. I have blocked all communications on the battlefield and erased their memories of me. How you write the specific battle report is up to you two." After saying this, Sandman left them with a difficult task and became a hands-off manager.
He needed to properly sort out the spoils of this battle. The remaining minor matters would naturally be handled by others.
"Korax, how do we write such an outrageous war report? Write that the Rak'Gol War Moon couldn't take it, one self-immolated, putting on a fireworks show for us, and the other, lamenting the might of the Imperium, reformed itself and rewrote its underlying code, pledging loyalty to the Raven Guard?" Mortarion said to Korax. After such a long time in the Great Crusade, this was the first time he felt helpless about writing a battle report. Submitting a report like this would surely get them flayed alive.
"It seems writing it this way isn't impossible," Korax said helplessly. He also didn't know how to write it. Writing a battle report wasn't difficult; the difficulty lay in hiding Sandman's monstrous strength while making everything seem plausible. After all, the casualties of the two Legions were disproportionately low compared to the results achieved.
"Let's just write it like this. Anyway, my father will surely know what happened. The opinions of others don't matter, and it's not like we're falsifying military intelligence," Korax gritted his teeth and made a decision. Those who didn't believe it could come and inspect the captured War Moon themselves.
The Styx.
"Styx, how about I get you a new body? I think the captured Rak'Gol War Moon is quite suitable," Sandman suggested to Styx.
During the recent battle, if Sandman had increased his power further, the Styx's hull would not have been able to withstand it. This was also why Sandman chose to teleport his flagship away. After all, it had followed Sandman for so long, and he was reluctant to lose his flagship in a battle against a Rak'Gol War Moon.
"Everything is as the master commands." Styx was very receptive to the suggestion.
"Alright, then I'll get you a new body. I'll also upgrade you, allowing your consciousness and programs to control both the Styx and the War Moon simultaneously." Sandman thought for a moment before saying.
In the future, he couldn't possibly travel on foot everywhere. As for a War Moon, it was too conspicuous and unnecessary.
"Thank you, omnipotent master." Styx expressed his heartfelt gratitude.
"Go down and experience the battle just now. You will gain something." Sandman waved his hand and disconnected his link with Styx.
"Ah, that was close! I almost revealed myself." Sandman slumped onto the soft sofa, his entire back buried in the soft cushions, looking exhausted.
Only then did Sandman reveal his true physical condition. Cracks appeared all over his fair skin. At this moment, Sandman was like a porcelain doll, covered in cracks, but the cracks on his body were slowly shrinking.
Although this battle seemed to have yielded him incredibly rich spoils, it had indeed been exhausting, especially the final confrontation with the Rak'Gol Supreme. Although the two sides had only exchanged a few words, they had already clashed in countless different dimensions. If the Rak'Gol Supreme had not been wary of the Emperor, who had yet to appear, a great battle would have erupted between them.
"The number of Star Gods devoured is still not enough!" Sandman closed his eyes and looked inward. He saw particles of black energy continuously devouring fragments of Star Gods within him.
It was clear that Sandman's power was currently unbalanced. The continuously expanding territory, the increasing population within it, and the constant outbreak of wars had made the power of Sandman's Warp projection increasingly potent.
Now, his Warp projection had fully condensed the parts of his weapon and body from his feet to his waist. All that remained was the upper body and, most importantly, the head to condense for his complete birth.
Conversely, the strength of his physical body in the real universe could not keep up with the growth rate of his Warp power. Even though he had been digging up Necron tombs all these years, the fragments of Star Gods he had obtained were not enough to support his physical body to catch up with the growth of his Warp power.
"Damn Necrons for shattering the Star Gods so much! Why is eating so difficult, forcing me to dig for food everywhere!" Sandman complained with great dissatisfaction. He felt no different from a scavenger in a Hive City, running around everywhere for a meal.
Moreover, he had a premonition that after devouring the Rak'Gol Supreme, his Warp projection would be completely born, and then he would be able to control it at will, rather than being like he was now, only hearing the constant desire from the other party to devour more souls.
