Background / History

Tong Tian was the leader of the Intercepting Sect and a Sage whose divine sense could once survey the Primordial Era, the Three Realms, and the Six Paths. Following the shattering of the Primordial Era and a change in the Heavenly Dao, he was forced into the modern world in a weakened, confused state. The realm’s negligible spiritual energy and inert atmosphere leave him unable to restore himself through ordinary meditation. 2 4

His greatest historical wound is the destruction of the Intercepting Sect during the Investiture of the Gods. Tong Tian commanded the Immortal Slaughtering Sword Formation against a coalition that included Yuanshi Tianzun, Taishang Laojun, Jie Yin, and Zhun Ti; the formation was broken, its four swords taken, and his disciples were slaughtered, captured, or forced onto the Investiture of the Gods. 28 29
