Background / History

Nuwa and her elder brother Fuxi were born on Mount Buzhou, conceived from the essence of yin and yang creation. Shortly after their emergence, Di Jiang expelled them from their birthplace and sealed the mountain with the Five Elements Great Array. Nuwa repeatedly attempted to break the barrier with her newly comprehended power of creation, but could not disturb it; she and Fuxi ultimately settled on Fengqi Mountain. 5 6

She later became Hongjun's direct disciple and received the Primordial Violet Qi. Di Jiang coerced her into residing at the Sun Star to deter Candle Dragon and stabilize the nascent Heavenly Court; during this stay, Nuwa recognized the merit-bearing opportunity in uniting Di Jun with Xihe and Taiyi with Changxi through Heavenly Marriage. 67

After witnessing Di Jiang establish reincarnation, Nuwa realized that she could attain the Dao through merit rather than Laws. She used the Nine Heavens Breathing Soil, Three Lights Divine Water, her Essence Blood, and the Law of Creation to fashion 129,600 Humans in the image of the Innate Dao Body. Nuwa moved the newborn Human Race to a protected sanctuary on Fengqi Mountain and taught them an entire immortal-cultivation system over ten thousand years. Hongjun subsequently named Nuwa the Mystic Gate's Senior Disciple and entrusted her with restoring the sect's declining fortune through the Human Dao. He granted her the Twelve-grade Pure World White Lotus and the root of the Great Dao of Laws. 136
