Background / History

Before joining Zhang Xuanchen, Xuanjing was known as Sansheng and served the Profound Dragon Venerable, Li Xuanlong. The Three Lives Samsara Mirror was later shattered; by the time Zhang Xuanchen encountered it, only roughly one-tenth of its original form remained. 219 455

Sansheng acknowledged Zhang Xuanchen as master by blood in the Three Lives Samsara Realm. Zhang Xuanchen then renamed him Zhang Xuanjing, gave him the Zhang surname and Xuan-generation status, and asked him to regard the Zhang Family as his own home. 118

Xuanjing became a constant companion to Zhang Xuanchen, usually appearing on his shoulder to provide knowledge, tactical advice, and analysis of treasures, cultivation methods, physiques, and dangers. Zhang Xuanchen later introduced him to the family as one of a pair of “unfortunate sisters” alongside Little Peach, concealing both of their true identities. 160 216

Xuanjing can manifest as a small, silver-haired porcelain-doll-like child, commonly sitting on Zhang Xuanchen's shoulder. His true form is an exquisite spiritual mirror that resides in Zhang Xuanchen's sea of consciousness. 118 164 449

Despite his carefree behavior, Xuanjing is serious when assessing threats or cultivation risks. He warns Zhang Xuanchen against overextending the Samsara Tribulation Light, advises against unsustainable soul-control attempts, and supports practical rather than reckless cultivation decisions. 289 459
