Background

Yan lost her parents and much of her family to war. She was raised by her “Second Grandfather,” Uchiha Enichi—her grandfather’s brother and a surviving elder from the Warring States era. Enichi regarded her as his last close family member and personally trained her in Taijutsu and Ninjutsu. 13 17

At the Ninja Academy, Yan ranked first in her class, with Hyuga Rin in second place. She became interested in Yayoi after noticing his ability to endure loneliness, persistently sought his friendship, and eventually became his closest companion. 5 10

Yan supported Yayoi’s early bloodline research by providing Uchiha blood samples, obtaining materials for his experiments, and lending him fifty million ryō from her inheritance and survivor benefits. 10 11 13
