History

Hawke Group and Umbrella Corporation

Nathan Hawke begins as the CEO of Hawke Group, a company originally built around household goods. Seeking protection and influence beyond conventional business, he secretly funds Umbrella Corporation; Wesker's forceful methods help establish it as a powerful but infamous organization. 1 2

He develops the Superhero Project after recognizing that Umbrella's establishment increased his influence. Nathan brings Stark Industries' weapons researchers into Umbrella rather than exposing them through Hawke Group, intending to use their work to equip his growing superhuman force. 2 4

Nathan summons Andrew, Alex Hassel/Translucent, and Max Dillon/Electro, then imposes a strict hierarchy over them. He rebukes Andrew's lack of discipline, has Wesker train him, and shapes Andrew's public debut as Super V after the defeat of Iron Monger. 1 4 5

He cultivates a philanthropic public image by arranging a superhero press conference while claiming to attend a charity gala. Although he does not personally attend, the donations and welfare-home projects are carried out, improving public opinion of Hawke Group and its heroes. 6

Expanding Across Other Worlds

During his time in the KOF world, Nathan trains with Chin Gensai alongside Andrew and Max. He bargains with Goenitz and the Kusanagi clan, trading his knowledge of Orochi-related threats for blood from the Three Sacred Treasures families. 28 29

Nathan later targets Night City's corporate technology. After using Jenova cells to eliminate Trauma Team forces and destroy a ZetaTech Atlas vehicle, he coerces Dexter DeShawn into spreading rumors and hiring mercenaries to distract corporations while Hawke's forces target Corporate Plaza. 57

The Ancient One tasks him with stopping White Can Tony Stark from replacing the local Tony Stark, then later entrusts him with repairing rifts in other universes using the Space Stone. Nathan chooses to travel alone in order to improve his own strength and authority. 91 93

Hawke Earth and Hawke Planet

Nathan's multiversal activity earns him the designation “Destroyer of Worlds” among the Young Avengers and those investigating Hawke Group. He confronts the accusation directly after arriving in their world and learning that Wiccan had sensed his arrival as a threat. 105 106 176

After returning to his own parallel world, Nathan transforms the planet into Hawke Earth by merging his will with it. His consciousness spreads across the world, allowing him to perceive and control its natural systems. 417

He later obtains and absorbs Ego's core energy. Using its Celestial Power, Nathan restores the former Earth—now Hawke Planet—into a habitable world with regulated climate, revived land, stable internal energy, and a planet-wide system centered on his will. 468

Appearance

Nathan's most detailed described appearance is his Jenova-powered electric warrior form, which manifests during his battle with Karruu-possessed Billy Kaplan. 110

  • Blue electric light armor envelops his body like a fitted electronic force field. 110
  • Constant arcs flicker across the armor's surface and through the surrounding air. 110
  • His eyes shine with bright blue electrical light. 110
  • The transformation enhances his muscular physique and gives off an oppressive electrical aura. 110
  • The environment reacts to the form: nearby stones vibrate and the air carries a distinct electrical scent. 110

Personality

Nathan is consistently calm, observant, and highly strategic. He evaluates people for their utility, disciplines unstable subordinates, and uses business, technology, public relations, and intimidation as interconnected tools for expanding his influence. 1 2 57 113

He values self-control and continual improvement. Even after becoming powerful enough to fight major supernatural and cosmic threats, he repeatedly trains in gravity chambers and deliberately seeks difficult battles to refine his abilities. 137 250 352

Nathan can be ruthless when he considers someone an obstacle or threat. He kills an infiltrating driver with telekinesis, eradicates Trauma Team personnel to conceal his secrets, and describes his worldview as survival of the fittest. 6 57 186

Despite this, he is not indiscriminately cruel. After overwhelming Hulkling during his clash with the Young Avengers, he spares him once Teddy surrenders. He also fights Electro as a respected rival rather than an enemy, ending their Arctic duel with a handshake. 105 168
