Background / History

Tang Hao is Tang San's father and a long-hidden powerhouse of the Clear Sky Sect. Tang San's upbringing was marked by Tang Hao's neglect, leaving his son with an extreme desire for approval and concern for his public image 25.

After Tang San is humiliated during Shrek Academy's entrance test, Tang Hao appears outside the academy in black attire and confronts Zhao Wuji. He reveals nine Soul Rings and his status as a Titled Douluo, then punishes Zhao Wuji and Great Master Yu for their treatment of Tang San 12 13.

At the Heaven Dou Yoga Assembly, Tang Hao intervenes when Emperor Xue Ye orders Tang San's arrest. His appearance exposes Tang San's powerful background to the assembled Soul Masters; he disperses the guards restraining his son with a surge of Soul Power 55. He subsequently prepares to fight Yu Yuanzhen, but Bibi Dong's intervention prevents the battle from immediately escalating 56 57.

While moving to attack Great Master Yu, Tang Hao is forcibly affected by the Narration System and kneels to accept Yu as his master. He regains control shortly afterward, realizes what happened, and furiously searches for the person responsible 58 59. Believing Bibi Dong and Yu Yuanzhen may have influenced him, he uses Clear Sky True Body, Ring Detonation, and the Great Sumeru Hammer against them before disappearing again 60 62.

Tang Hao later returns to discipline Tang San for recognizing Shen He as his father 81. After Tang San suggests that Shen He may possess a powerful secret technique or treasure, Tang Hao considers obtaining it for the Clear Sky Sect 90.

The Martial Soul Hall eventually surrounds him with nine Titled Douluos. Tang Hao attempts to escape through Golden Crocodile Douluo using the Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer and Ring Detonation, but Ghost Douluo and Chrysanthemum Douluo immobilize him with the Two Poles Still Domain. He is captured and imprisoned 91 92.

In prison, Tang Hao cultivates the Sunflower Manual in desperation. The reversed technique breaks his seal but turns his Soul Power violent and increasingly uncontrollable. He escapes after injuring Ghost Douluo and Chrysanthemum Douluo, killing numerous Martial Soul Hall Soul Sages in the process. Reading the manual's final page—that self-castration was unnecessary—drives him further into madness 93 94.

He relies on overwhelming strength and responds aggressively to perceived insults or threats. When he believes other Titled Douluos manipulated him into kneeling before Great Master Yu, he immediately prepares to retaliate with lethal force 59 60.

His imprisonment intensifies his determination into vengeful recklessness. The Sunflower Manual gives him the power to escape, but its violent Soul Power destroys his self-control and leaves him consumed by rage 93 94.
