Background / History
Tang San practiced the Tang Sect's Mysterious Jade Hand from childhood. The technique altered the bones of his hands enough that Flender could not determine his bone age through a normal palm examination. During an earlier hunt for his first Soul Ring, Great Master Yu misjudged a Mandala Snake's strength; Tang San ultimately killed it with Hidden Weapons and detoxified Yu himself. 2 20
He enrolled at Shrek Academy alongside Xiao Wu. At his entrance examination, Shen He altered the narration surrounding Tang San's Blue Silver Grass Martial Soul, causing it to manifest instead as a Blue Silver Pig. The mutation drew widespread ridicule, though Tang San still qualified for admission as a Soul Grand Master with two hundred-year Soul Rings. 3
Appearance
Tang San is initially described as unremarkable. His most distinctive visual trait is his mutated Martial Soul rather than his own appearance. 2 3
- Blue Silver Pig Martial Soul — A blue, over-one-foot-long pig covered in Blue Silver Grass-like branch and leaf patterns. 3
- Pig-tail vine — Its tail resembles a Blue Silver Grass vine and continuously wags. 3
- Eight Chrysanthemum Spear — Eight chrysanthemum-like indentations emerge on his back after he gains his External Soul Bone. 34
Personality
Tang San is proud of his strength and initially treats other applicants with open disdain. Even after the Blue Silver Pig mutation humiliates him publicly, he remains determined to prove himself. 3 5
He is deeply concerned with reputation and reacts strongly when his image, methods, or authority are challenged. This concern drives both his public confrontation with Great Master Yu over the stolen Mysterious Heaven Skill and his willingness to use questionable methods to gain an advantage. 25 53 56
Tang San favors unorthodox tactics. He considers surrendering opponents, indiscriminate poison attacks, and humiliating distractions to be legitimate combat strategy, even when these actions alienate teammates or spectators. 36 41 87
