Background

Dai Mubai was already a Shrek Academy student when Tang San, Xiao Wu, and Shen He arrived for admissions. Having fought Tang San the previous day, he confirmed that Tang San’s Martial Soul had originally been Blue Silver Grass before it became the Blue Silver Pig; he openly described the new Martial Soul as “perverted.” He subsequently escorted the successful applicants through the academy’s examinations and explained Zhao Wuji’s capabilities before the fourth trial. 3 8

Before the new students enrolled, Dai Mubai was one of only three students at Shrek alongside Oscar and Ma Hongjun. Though he is a Star Luo prince, he cannot seek financial help from his family: discovery by his elder brother Dai Weisi would force him to flee again. 11 14

Dai Mubai is proud of both his strength and royal background. He reacts strongly to perceived disrespect, readily activating his Martial Soul when Blue Sunshine Academy dismisses Shrek and challenging their students to an eating contest rather than tolerating their arrogance. 21 22

In battle, he is direct but not thoughtless. During Shen He’s group-training exercise, he selects Ma Hongjun because Phoenix Evil Fire can restrain Tang San’s control abilities, allowing Dai Mubai to attack more effectively. 14 He also stands up when the former Heaven Dou Royal Team insults his companions, challenging Yu Tianheng personally. 83
