Assaulting the Seal and Slumber (4th Update)
Pietro was startled to see Peter Parker's pale face and rushed over to help, which helped Peter Parker's complexion improve.
At the same time, Peter Parker stopped shooting Spider Web to deal with the Shadowkhan and instead fought them slowly with his fists and feet. In any case, the Shadowkhan Shadowkhan were strong enough for him to handle with his fists and feet, as long as he could dodge their attacks.
Previously, Peter Parker was too eager to finish the fight against these Shadowkhan Shadowkhan, wanting to kill as many as possible to end the crisis.
But now Peter Parker knows that when faced with such an endless stream of enemies, his power is limited, even if he awakens superpowers. Rather than being greedy and reckless, it is better to proceed steadily and surely.
Meanwhile, in a secret chamber within Valmont's base, the dragon statue of Demon Sorcerer was trembling incessantly. Due to the deaths of too many Shadowkhan, the power of the Shadowkhan stolen from that Mask was nearing its end. After all, this wasn't Demon Sorcerer's own power; it couldn't be inexhaustible...
But the Demon Sorcerer was unwilling to give up. He was unwilling to lose the chance to retrieve the Talisman. His heart was filled with hatred because Robet, that bastard, always ruined his plans to retrieve the Talisman.
If it weren't for Robet, he would have long ago reclaimed the Talisman, regained some of his power, and thus found a chance to break the seal, regain his freedom, or even regain all his power and rule the world again!
"Crack! Crack!" Thinking of this, the Demon Sorcerer, unwilling and angry, desperately tried to break through the seal on his body. The entire seal began to tremble, and some fragments of stone fell from around the Shendu Dragon Statue.
The Demon Sorcerer knew that this might be his last chance, and he decided to fight to the death!
The red light in the Demon Sorcerer's eyes grew increasingly bright, and visibly, the entire secret chamber trembled as the dragon statue shook!
In the monitoring room, Valmont watched this scene calmly, showing no intention of taking action. Instead, a hint of anticipation flashed in his eyes. He wanted to see if Demon Sorcerer could regain his freedom without obtaining the Talisman.
However, if Demon Sorcerer does succeed, Valmont won't just stand by and watch. He'll have someone test Demon Sorcerer's strength. If Demon Sorcerer's strength isn't enough, then Baron Strucker might have a new experimental subject.
It seems that if we could study the true power of the Demon Sorcerer, then the Animal Warriors created by the Monkey Talisman might be able to advance even further.
Of course, before that, Valmont needed to find a way to restrain Baron Strucker and not let that guy reap the rewards.
"Roar!" Under Valmont's expectant gaze, the Demon Sorcerer in the secret chamber let out a dragon's roar. Immediately afterwards, the aura of the Shendu Dragon Statue reached its peak, and the red light in its eyes even began to shine into the secret chamber, dyeing everything red!
It seemed that in the next moment, the Demon Sorcerer would be able to break through its seal and regain his freedom; even the Demon Sorcerer himself thought so.
Unfortunately, the seal's tenacity and power reached their peak at this moment. When the Demon Sorcerer's power erupted to its zenith, the Demon Sorcerer still firmly bound him and was not broken by him.
When the Demon Sorcerer's strongest burst of power still failed to break the seal, he suffered a backlash from the seal. Demon Sorcerer aura instantly plummeted, and his consciousness was severely damaged. He immediately fell into a deep sleep, remaining motionless like a real dragon statue.
"That's it? It's over?" Seeing the chamber return to silence, Valmont flashed with hesitation, then he spoke with a hint of disdain, "I thought this old guy had some trump card, but now it seems he's nothing special! Or rather, the thing that sealed him was too powerful! Tsk tsk, luckily I didn't encounter such a powerful opponent..."
"No! There's also that guy, the guy who keeps ruining my plans, Jackie Chan's henchman, that unknown and unknown powerful figure!"
Valmont initially believed that Robet was Section 13's secret weapon, an unknown super agent. Therefore, Valmont even fantasized about the immense power he would gain after taking control of Section 13!
Unfortunately, as time went on, Valmont learned more and more about Section 13. While Section 13 certainly possessed considerable supernatural power, the Talisman were already among the best; there was no one more powerful than the Talisman, like Robet...
Therefore, Valmont's dream was shattered; he could neither gain a powerful subordinate like Robet nor become that powerful himself.
Fortunately, Valmont's infiltration of Section 13 did not stop, and more and more Hydra spies became mid-level and even high-level agents in Section 13.
With the help of these subordinates, Valmont abandoned the idea of completely controlling Section 13 and instead prepared to look for an opportunity to take back all the Talisman in Section 13. He had been waiting long enough to reap the benefits!
As for that wretched place, Section 13, let whoever wants it have it; Valmont certainly doesn't want it anymore!
After all, Valmont's background and identity destined him to be unable to become the official controller of Section 13. It would be of little significance for him to recommend another trusted subordinate to control Section 13; in the end, it would just be a contest with organizations like S.H.I.E.L.D..
This would not only incur the dissatisfaction of Alexander Pierce's faction, but would also deplete Hydra's internal strength, making it a losing proposition.
Why not just grab the Talisman and leave? Once you have Talisman power, wouldn't it be a piece of cake for Valmont to conquer Hydra?
At that point, Valmont would still be in control of S.H.I.E.L.D.. anyway, so why bother with a smaller agency like Section 13, which has fewer secrets?
Especially now, with Demon Sorcerer seemingly asleep, Valmont is already fantasizing about how he will be able to control the weather and be omnipotent after obtaining the twelve Talisman.
Meanwhile, Peter Parker and his friends were fighting the Shadowkhan when they suddenly discovered that the Shadowkhan had vanished into black mist. This left Peter Parker and his companions somewhat bewildered, stopping in their tracks, unsure of what had happened.
"Where are the enemies? Where are they? They've all disappeared!" Pietro looked around but couldn't see any Shadowkhan. Especially since the Shadowkhan would turn into black smoke and disappear after being killed, the surroundings were now as clean as if the Shadowkhan had never been there. The battle just now seemed like a hallucination.
"They must have exhausted themselves and couldn't hold on any longer." Kara landed from mid-air with Robet in her arms and said softly, "However, they will come again. Of course, they will appear wherever the Talisman is. So, shouldn't you consider handing the Talisman over to me?"
"Hmph!" Lorna snorted coldly, somewhat unconvinced, and looked at Kara, saying, "Didn't you say that Robet handled the Talisman matter before? Now that Robet is asleep, why should I rush to hand over the Talisman to you?"
