Kara's Concession (Part 5)
Upon hearing this, Kara glared at Lorna with an unfriendly expression, and the atmosphere around them instantly froze. Peter Parker was the first to sense the danger and instinctively stepped back.
But Pietro and Barry Allen were faster than him; even though their sense of danger was slightly dulled, they were fast enough to retreat to a safe distance in the blink of an eye.
"They're going to fight! They're going to fight!" Pietro, Barry Allen, and Peter Parker quickly huddled together, exchanging glances as they stared intently at Kara and Lorna.
Even Pietro, Lorna's brother, seemed to be watching with amusement, since such a scene was extremely rare to witness...
"Alright! Then these Talisman will stay here. If you encounter the Shadowkhan, I hope you won't regret it..." However, to the surprise of Peter Parker, the other two, and Lorna, the usually assertive Kara actually chose to back down this time. She glanced at the sleeping Robet and then looked at Lorna and spoke.
Anyway, Kara had been worried about Robet's injuries and wanted to take Robet home as soon as possible. Since he didn't want to hand over the Talisman now, she could just leave the Rooster Talisman with her.
"Huh?" Lorna was taken aback when she heard Kara's words, then looked at Kara with some confusion. Kara didn't explain much; dealing with the Shadowkhan had already taken up a lot of time, and Kara wanted to go back as soon as possible so that Robet could get some rest.
Therefore, Kara didn't bother to explain further and simply carried Robet back to the farm, leaving Lorna and the others completely bewildered.
"No... they just left like that? Then... what about this Talisman?" Barry Allen stared blankly at the Talisman in his hand, asking in a daze.
"You're asking me? Who am I supposed to ask? But it's alright, I've already given you the Talisman, so you can handle it... Uh, that doesn't seem right either. Lorna has another Talisman. If the Shadowkhan comes again, it doesn't seem to make any difference!" Pietro shrugged subconsciously, and then suddenly looked at Lorna and said helplessly.
"Why didn't you just let him take the Talisman? Why did you have to be so stubborn? Now look what's happened! What if the Shadowkhan comes and destroys our house?"
"How was I supposed to know she'd leave so decisively? I thought she was determined to take the Talisman with her." Lorna pouted, somewhat unconvinced. "I just wanted to check on Robet's injuries, did she have to be so protective?"
"As for it!" Peter Parker and the other two exchanged glances and nodded in unison, indicating that Kara's concerns were not unfounded.
"But Robet's injuries seem pretty serious. Will he be alright?" Barry Allen scratched his head, somewhat hesitantly. "And what about these two Talisman? We can't just throw them away, can we?"
"Let's find somewhere to stay and not go home. We can see if Kara and the others come to school tomorrow," Pietro suggested quickly, his eyes darting around.
"That's right! We can go find them after they leave! Peter Parker, aren't you always hanging around with them? You should know where they live, right?" Lorna's eyes lit up when she heard Pietro's words, and she looked at Peter Parker expectantly.
"You really overestimate me..." Peter Parker shrugged helplessly and said softly, "I just meet them every morning, but judging from their behavior, their home shouldn't be in Missouri ..."
"Not in Missouri? How is that possible? I don't know about Robet, but Kara definitely lived in Missouri before!" Barry Allen immediately retorted.
Before Robet transferred schools, Kara was a popular Wind and Cloud in her class. While her background wasn't exactly common knowledge, she was certainly someone everyone paid attention to, and it was generally accepted that Kara lived in Missouri. After all, the Demit's Quintet had even secretly followed Kara before, though they failed in their attempt to catch her...
"I don't know about that. Time flew by today, and I'm so tired. I'll head home now; it's almost time to go home anyway..." Peter Parker shook his head helplessly and said softly.
"Whoosh!"
"Whoosh!"
But just as Peter Parker was about to leave, Barry Allen and Pietro flashed by and stopped him.
"Don't go, Peter!" Pietro blinked, looking at Peter Parker with a smile, and said, "We've been through thick and thin together, are you really going to abandon your comrade like this? You should at least stay with us to protect the Talisman."
"If I don't go home, Aunt May and the others will worry..." Peter Parker said with a helpless smile as he looked at Pietro and Barry Allen, who were blocking his way from the left and right.
"It's alright, a phone call would have sufficed," Pietro patted Peter Parker on the shoulder, saying meaningfully. "You know, when someone was about to be completely drained, I rushed to his rescue without hesitation. Now that you're all better off, it seems a bit too heartless of you to just leave."
"Okay, okay, I'll go with you, alright?" Peter Parker quickly raised his hand and said.
And so, Peter Parker three companions left the ravaged battlefield. By the time the authorities received the intelligence and sent men over, nothing remained but a scene of utter devastation.
Finally, after layers of reporting and definition, this event was classified as an extraordinary incident, and people were sent to investigate, but they found nothing.
Meanwhile, Kara brought Robet back to Kent Farm. Martha and Jonathan were shocked when they saw Robet's injuries. If Kara hadn't gestured for them to be quiet, they would have screamed.
Kara settled Robet on the bed, but didn't bathe Robet like Diana had done before. After all, Robet was quite badly injured this time, and the bloody hole in his abdomen hadn't completely healed. Kara felt it wasn't advisable for him to get wet.
"Kara, what happened? How did Robet get so badly injured? Is he alright?" After Kara left the room, Martha and Jonathan asked Robet about his condition with worried expressions.
"The injuries look a bit serious, but Robet is recovering quickly and will be back to normal soon." Kara shook her head, offering a soft reassurance, then looked around with some confusion and asked softly, "Hmm? Where's Clark? Why isn't he here?"
"He went out earlier, saying it was something important. Oh! By the way, he told you to stay home and watch the house when you get back, and not to wander off..." Martha remembered what Clark had said when he left, and became even more worried.
"What's Clark up to? Could it be related to Robet's injury? Kara, aren't you supposed to have a very good eye? Can you locate Clark?"
