Secret Assessment
After studying the Talisman, Robet turned his attention to Pietro, Lorna, and Barry Allen. Since it wasn't due to the Talisman, then the three of them must be somewhat unusual.
"Would you like to demonstrate your abilities again?" Robet asked, looking at the three of them.
"I'll go first! I'll go first!" Lorna shoved Pietro aside, glanced at Kara beside her, and then taunted him again.
With a "whoosh!" as Lorna finished speaking, an invisible force was released from Lorna body. This force was somewhat similar to the Levitation Power, but also different. It seemed to be controlling the surrounding things through some peculiar connection, rather than simply making things float.
Robet even felt that this ability was somewhat similar to Telekinesis, or rather, the final effects were similar—both could control surrounding objects, or even release Telekinetic Shockwave...
With a "whoosh!", Lorna, who was demonstrating her abilities, activated this Telekinetic Shockwave. She glanced at Kara, whose expression was unfriendly, and wanted to test the difference between herself and Kara. So she released the shockwave and rammed into Kara.
Kara moved swiftly, having kept her eyes fixed on Lorna, thus avoiding Lorna's sneak attack. However, she seized the opportunity to teach Lorna a lesson.
"You asked for this!" Kara sneered at Lorna, a cold smile playing on her lips, before flashing towards Lorna.
"Is the difference that big?" A hint of surprise flashed in Lorna's eyes, followed by a blur of motion rushing towards her. Startled, Lorna quickly shouted, "Whoa! Don't come any closer! I was just joking..."
However, although Lorna was shouting, she was not slow in her actions. She first tried to drive Kara away, and then controlled some things around her to smash them at Kara.
As the dirty, unidentified objects flew towards her, Kara frowned slightly. These things certainly couldn't harm her, but Kara didn't want to be hit by these filthy things and ruin her image...
Therefore, Kara flashed forward, unleashing her true speed, directly dodging everything around her and Lorna's Repulsion Force, and rushed in front of Lorna.
Previously, when Pietro and Barry Allen were fighting Robet and Martian Manhunter, they thought their abilities were merely a passive response to Robet and Martian Manhunter.
Now, seeing Kara's speed, they were somewhat dismayed to discover that Kara's speed also far surpassed theirs...
Meanwhile, Kara had already grabbed Lorna, who was playing terribly, and was ready to teach her a lesson!
"Alright, Kara, stop bullying the kids..." Robet shook his head, stopping Kara. "Why don't you help us observe the difference in speed between those two and us?"
"Hmph! Yes, I won't argue with a kid!" Kara, though stopped by Robet, wasn't angry. Instead, a smug smile played on her lips as she glanced at Lorna and said mockingly, "But if the kid doesn't know what's good for her, don't blame me for being impolite!"
Kara released the somewhat resentful Lorna as she spoke, and Pietro quickly stepped in to ease the tension, saying, "It's our turn! Let's team up! We discovered our abilities were slightly different before, so let's have another competition!"
Pietro's next words were spoken to Barry Allen. Both he and Barry Allen awakened superpowers because of the Rabbit Talisman, and they had similar superpowers, so they definitely wanted to have a showdown.
"Whoosh!"
"Whoosh!"
As the two voices rang out, Pietro and Barry Allen had already transformed into two afterimages and rushed out. Their speeds were roughly equal, but Robet could sense that there were indeed some differences in their abilities.
Although the two exhibited almost identical speeds, their fundamental natures were different, just as Clark and Martian Manhunter both possessed Heat Vision but their gas principles differed.
Moreover, after Barry Allen and Pietro rushed out, Robet saw a faint silver energy emanating from Pietro's body, assisting Pietro in running.
Barry Allen, on the other hand, did not show any such power leaking out. He seemed to have entered a peculiar state, in which he accelerated his run.
After some observation, Robet and Kara couldn't find the reason why the three had activated their superpowers, but they did discover their weaknesses.
Unlike when they possessed Talisman and could use their abilities at will, the three of them have only recently developed their superpowers and their mastery of them is still quite immature. They are far from being able to control their abilities as easily as they can with Talisman.
Therefore, Robet's advice to the group was to let them familiarize themselves with their abilities first, and then they could try training with Peter Parker.
Initially, Robet had considered having the three train with him, but after careful consideration, he felt that their superpowers were not quite compatible with his own. Peter Parker could be considered a weakened version of a warrior, while Barry Allen and the others could only be considered as ability users with some special skills.
Hearing Robet's words, Kara was in high spirits and glanced at Lorna with a hint of smugness; a spark seemed to fly between them.
Kara, who was originally planning to go with Robet to find Jackie Chan, has now stayed with Lorna, ostensibly to teach Lorna and the others about superpowers, but in reality, she's subtly provoking Lorna.
Barry Allen seemed to have seen this scene before; it was a different kind of offensive and defensive maneuver.
Meanwhile, Robet soon arrived at Uncle's Antique Shop and handed the two Talisman to Jackie Chan. Jackie Chan also had some new information to tell Robet.
"I need to go back to China for a while. My Uncle said there's an important secret assessment waiting for me, and he wants me to give it a try," Jackie Chan said softly to Robet.
"Not only me, but Jade is also going with us, so we won't be able to provide you with information about the Talisman for a while."
"However, all things considered, we've already collected nine Talisman, so having only three left shouldn't pose any major problems."
"An assessment?" Robet scratched his head, feeling somewhat disappointed. Without the Talisman, it wouldn't be so easy for Robet to find a reason to go on an adventure or encounter some powerful individuals.
Robet was inwardly skeptical. Why were Valmont and Demon Sorcerer silent? If they couldn't handle him, couldn't they handle Section 13? Had Demon Sorcerer and Valmont simply given up? Was Section 13 really the safest place in the world?
However, Robet was unaware that Demon Sorcerer had fallen into a deep sleep, Valmont was still secretly lurking, waiting for the opportunity to make his move. Meanwhile, in the darkness, a power that Robet had seen before was quietly awakening.
