Steve and Bucky (5)
"Now that you're going to be Superman, Clark, how can you not have your own costume? Peter Parker and the others are all making their own costumes, so I'll design one for you too, Clark. What do you say?" Robet blinked when he heard Clark's words, as if he had thought of something, and looked at Clark expectantly.
"You? Fine! Draw it and let me see." Clark was initially skeptical of Robet, but considering the nickname Robet had just given him, Clark finally agreed.
"Hmm, I need the S-shaped symbol on the chest, and I should also have a red cape. Most importantly, I need red underwear... Whoa!" Before Robet could even finish saying "red underwear," he sensed danger and awkwardly dodged the Heat Vision attack. Robet saw a large crater in the ground, followed by Clark's unfriendly expression and the somewhat bewildered looks of the others around him.
"The previous suggestions were alright, but we don't need any more unnecessary additions!" Clark glared at Robet and finalized the design of the uniform: an S-shaped family crest and a red cape on the back. As for red underwear, that was absolutely out of the question! Clark would never wear that!
"Clark... are you really ready?" Jonathan asked with some concern, looking at Clark had already made his decision.
At this point, it was Jonathan who hesitated, because he didn't know what kind of impact Clark would have on the world if he really stood up, or how people would view Clark.
"Dad, I'm ready! I've thought it all through, and I'll keep the two identities separate so it won't affect my normal life," Clark said solemnly, looking at Jonathan with a serious expression.
"Furthermore, I've also discovered that there are many extraordinary forces in this world. Perhaps there won't be any events that Robet fears, events that would be considered a crisis for us, but for ordinary people, many times even forces that aren't particularly powerful are enough to pose a life-threatening threat!"
"Since you've made up your mind, then go for it! Clark, I believe in you!" Jonathan patted Clark on the shoulder and said with some emotion, "This day has finally come. It's time for you to start your own life!"
"Should I get involved in what's happening in Gotham City? Are those two really not working together to clean up Gotham City's environment?" Clark had decided to appear before the world under a different identity, naturally paid attention to the events that had been unfolding in Gotham City recently.
However, Clark wasn't entirely confident in resolving the problems in this city filled with darkness, especially since he wasn't certain whether the recent clashes between Batman and the Joker were truly a confrontation...
Moreover, the problems in Gotham City are clearly not caused by the Shadow Warrior sent by the Joker. Gotham City itself is complex and rife with criminals!
Clark felt that if he were to personally intervene, he could indeed arrest all the criminals, but it didn't seem like he could fundamentally and completely solve Gotham City's high crime rate problem.
On the contrary, if Robet had acted in his previous style, the results might have been better. After all, as long as the bad guys showed up, they would be killed, which would at least prevent many people from openly committing crimes. Violence against violence is not entirely without merit...
Unfortunately, this was not Clark's style; he did not want to present a side of himself as ruthless and decisive as Robet.
Clark has officially begun his career, and with several rescues of humans in danger, his reputation Superman Clark has gradually spread.
Meanwhile, a special person contacted Robet; this person was none other than Steve Robet had met once before.
During this Christmas holiday, Steve held another small art exhibition, and at the exhibition, Steve suddenly saw a familiar figure...
Even though Steve hadn't seen this figure for decades, he recognized him at a glance, because the figure belonged to Steve's former comrade-in-arms, his best brother, Bucky Barnes!
Upon seeing Bucky's familiar figure, Steve rushed out almost without hesitation, even though he remembered Bucky falling off a cliff and being left to die. But in a world filled with extraordinary abilities, what if a miracle occurred?
And so it went, he ran and he chased. He couldn't escape.
Soon, the aged but still incredibly fast Steve caught up with Bucky and successfully stopped him. Even though Bucky was wearing a strange mask and Bucky demeanor had changed drastically, Steve still recognized him from Bucky eyes!
"Bucky!" Steve called out Bucky's name excitedly, and Bucky trembled slightly upon hearing Steve's words, clearly recognizing Steve as well.
"Steve... you're so old... ugh!" Bucky, seeing Steve's response, suddenly clutched his head in pain. As Steve rushed forward to check on Bucky, Bucky quickly stopped Steve. "Don't come any closer! I'll lose control! Or rather, I won't be lucid for much longer..."
"What happened? Bucky... Ugh!" Steve was looking at Bucky with concern, about to ask what was going on, when he saw Bucky suddenly raise his head, a fierce glint in his eyes, and throw a punch at Steve.
With a loud "bang!", Steve's expression hardened. He first blocked Bucky's punch, but Bucky's second punch came at the same time. This punch was a metal fist!
Steve's body flew through the air and landed awkwardly on the ground. He had chased after Bucky without intending to bring his old friend, the shield, with him. Now that he had suffered a setback, he felt a little regretful. After all, he had been dormant for so many years, and his vigilance had indeed declined somewhat.
Even though he had already experienced the Talisman incident and briefly clashed with the Animal Warriors, it was clear that at Steve's age, it was not suitable for him to maintain peak energy and spirit at all times.
"Bucky, what's wrong?" Steve frowned, dodging Bucky as he rushed towards him, calling Bucky's name, trying to wake Bucky up.
But it didn't have much effect, and Steve also discovered that Bucky had changed drastically from the Bucky he knew. Not only did Bucky have a metal arm, but more importantly, Bucky's strength and speed were far greater than he remembered, as if he had been injected with the Super Soldier Serum. In Steve's memory, Bucky had never received the Super Soldier Serum...
In truth, Bucky's encounter with Steve was a coincidence. Hydra had sent Bucky on a mission and happened to be nearby. When Bucky saw Steve, his memory began to waver, and he instinctively moved closer to Steve, which led to the way things are now...
