The Deadly Chain of Questions
The Pope then began to excitedly recount his personal journey and express his unwavering faith in Heaven, all in an attempt to buy time.
The Pope is aware of the Voice of Heaven; he's only concerned with stalling for time. The longer he stalls, the greater the drain on Heaven!
"Your strength is at the peak of the human realm, yet you truly felt nothing?" The Voice of Heaven interrupted the incessantly talking Pope, but no one doubted it, as the Pope was almost always like this when facing Angel and the Heaven.
"A peak expert?" The Pope gave a wry smile. Although it was an act, it carried a degree of genuine emotion, because setting aside the Faith Power, he really wasn't considered a strongman. "Compared to the Sorcerer Supreme, what kind of peak expert am I? My orders are that we shouldn't even leave this city..."
"Isn't the Sorcerer Supreme lineage supposed to be indifferent to Earth's internal affairs? Could it be that the Sorcerer Supreme lineage is hindering the development of Heaven?" Gabriel recalled the time when she was blocked by Earth Dimension array Inter-dimensional Space. At that time, she did not directly deal with the Sorcerer Supreme because Zeus and many other pantheons blocked her.
After all, in the eyes of many pantheons, Earth is a place where Demon can enter, but if Angel want to enter, they'll have to pay the price and give up their trump cards!
"The Sorcerer Supreme does indeed largely ignore matters within Earth, but there are other powerful beings on Earth. Previously, a dimensional rift appeared on Earth, and countless Demon appeared. I thought this was an opportunity for Heaven to make a name for itself, and I was even prepared to personally deal with those Demon. But there were so many Demon! I didn't even see a shadow of one before I was wiped out..." The Pope said with a hint of sorrow in his voice.
"I don't even know who did it, but I'm certain it wasn't the Sorcerer Supreme's lineage, because there's no trace of magical power left. Lord, my power is truly insignificant. I beg you to grant me greater power to restore the glory of Heaven!"
"..." Upon hearing the Pope's voice, Gabriel was stunned. Given Heaven's current state, how could it possibly grant the Pope any power?
"Investigate the matter of the Holy Light thoroughly. If you can find any clues, the glory of the Lord will naturally be with you!" Seeing that the Pope had no clues at all, Gabriel knew that she had done a useless job, but she did not want to give up. So she issued a decree and prepared to use other means to investigate the situation on Earth.
Of course, Gabriel also cast a suspicious glance at the Sorcerer Supreme, after all, if the Sorcerer Supreme were to take action, it wouldn't be impossible for him to eliminate Raziel!
"I will definitely investigate this thoroughly!" Seeing the Voice of Heaven gradually fade away, the Pope breathed a sigh of relief, but still spoke respectfully. Soon, the entire surroundings fell silent.
"He didn't even bother to investigate the Shadow Hunter? Well, that makes sense. In his eyes, I'm just an apostle, and those Shadow Hunter probably aren't even that..." the Pope thought with a hint of mockery.
Meanwhile, at Constantine's resettlement base, the Shadow Hunter have been staying there temporarily for the past few days, planning their future. After losing their supernatural powers, not all of them are willing to give up the supernatural world.
After all, apart from Clary, they had been in the supernatural world for many years. But even Clary showed no intention of leaving. She longed to return to the supernatural world by some other means.
However, Constantine did not grant their request. As a lone wolf, as someone who had secretly learned many extraordinary powers and was also burdened with debt, Constantine knew all too well how unreliable magical powers were.
Previously, Constantine thought the Shadow Hunter were more like mutants with Metahuman, and that they wouldn't pay any price. However, after Raziel's arrival, Constantine overturned his previous understanding. But then again, Heaven isn't exactly a benevolent place; why would they unconditionally allow others to use their abilities?
Of course, only this generation of Shadow Hunter in the Magic Academy suffered such a fate. Shadow Hunter who chose to abandon their identities before, such as Jocelyn, did not suffer as much because the power of the Holy Grail also affected the Subspace.
In other words, if there hadn't been a few Shadow Hunter in the Subspace at the time, Raziel might not have been able to arrive at his full strength...
Based on the experiences of the Shadow Hunter, Constantine spent several days doing ideological work, explaining in detail what kind of price one would have to pay to become a mage, mostly the loss of soul, flesh, life, and freedom, which were nothing compared to what was to come.
Even if there is magic that doesn't require paying a price, you can't walk by the river without getting your shoes wet. Constantine previously thought he would never incur debt, but in the end, he still had to honestly scam others to pay off his own debts?
Even though Constantine is often unreliable, this time Robet asked Constantine to take good care of the Shadow Hunter, so Constantine was too lazy to trick them. Of course, the main reason was that these Shadow Hunter were just ordinary people now, and there was no point in him tricking them...
Furthermore, by maintaining a good relationship with Robet, Constantine felt he could disregard many risks. If anything went wrong, Robet probably wouldn't want him to die, right? Even if they weren't best friends now, they were good friends, weren't they? Getting a little tricked by Robet wouldn't be a problem, would it?
Besides, if he defaults on his debts and ends up swindling Robet, it will attract the attention of some powerful Robet, Robet should be very happy to see that happen!
Thinking about this, Constantine Central City a little pleased...
As for the Shadow Hunter, after Constantine's remarks, most of Shadow Hunter lost interest in staying in the transcendental world. After all, their previous experiences still left them somewhat fearful; the power of the Shadow Hunter lineage had come at the cost of lives...
But just when most Shadow Hunter had given up their identities, the new Angel Power condensed by the Pope appeared here and attempted to merge into the bodies of the Shadow Hunter.
Because most Shadow Hunter were initially rejecting this power, the Angel Power gradually shifted. Ultimately, only Clary, the Guardian, Jess, and a few other Shadow Hunter with better talent who were unwilling to leave the transcendental world reawakened their abilities...
"Huh? What's going on?" When their abilities were reawakened, a look of confusion flashed in Clary and the others' eyes. They subconsciously exchanged glances, realizing that not only had their powers been reawakened, but they had become even stronger!
"It seems we've regained our abilities, how did this happen?" Clary looked at Constantine, hoping to find the answer, seeing that the Guardian also looked confused and surprised.
"How would I know?" Constantine shrugged. He wasn't some omniscient god, but Constantine was still somewhat wary of Clary and the others' sudden awakening of their abilities. He said, "It's possible that Raziel returned to Heaven or died, and Heaven has set its sights on you, using you as some kind of anchor point for Heaven..."
"It doesn't matter, an anchor point is fine. I don't think Heaven will descend again anytime soon, right?" Clary said excitedly, feeling the power within her. "I can feel it, I'm stronger than before..."
"It seems I've retained the Portal ability..." A hint of hesitation flashed in the Guardian's eyes, then he waved his hand, and a water curtain door similar to the one in the Magic Academy appeared beside him. The important trump card that the Magic Academy had inherited had fallen back into his hands, allowing him to continue his destiny and protect the Shadow Hunter lineage as it thrives.
But the Guardian wasn't angry about it; he accepted it calmly because he had realized that after regaining his freedom, he felt out of place in the world. This wasn't the freedom he had once longed for!
Therefore, upon regaining control of the Portal, the Guardian felt a sense of relief, and rediscovered his purpose in life...
"Yes, Clary and the others have regained their abilities. Do you want to come and see?" Soon, under Clary's expectant gaze, Constantine contacted Robet again. "However, only a small number of them have regained their abilities. I suspect there's some kind of conspiracy involved!"
"Hmm..." Robet frowned after hearing Constantine's telepathic message, but with so few clues, he couldn't figure out what had happened. He could only reply telepathically, "Keep an eye on them. They can help you out. Contact me immediately if anything seems amiss..."
"By the way, we don't need to worry too much about Raziel himself, he's already been killed. But we still need to be careful about Heaven and the other Angel behind Raziel!"
"Of course, it's also possible that it's related to Hell, because Raziel later became Fallen Angel and gained power from the Hell Dimension..."
"What the hell? I missed so much?" Constantine, hearing Robet's words, shared a similar feeling with Clark earlier. How could so many exciting things have happened in just a few days since Robet parted ways, and he hadn't witnessed a single one of them?
"Was that Superman who made the move? Who are the others?" After regaining his senses, Constantine asked Robet with some anticipation. These were all experts; perhaps they could help him withstand even greater costs? Constantine couldn't help but be tempted!
"It's Superman. We've dealt with him before. When he saw that I was no match for the Angel, he made an exception and came to help me. Otherwise, he usually prefers to work alone..." Robet didn't tell Constantine much, because Robet knew that Constantine was unreliable, as evidenced by their previous experience Tracking Magic.
"Your friend is my friend!" Constantine said excitedly via telepathy, wanting to try and win him over further.
"First of all, we're not friends yet. Secondly, we're not friends, understand?" Robet interrupted Constantine without hesitation. "If there are any changes on the Shadow Hunter' side, remember to let me know. Also, remember to find me a formidable opponent, just don't provoke someone as powerful as the Angel from before!"
"..." Faced with Robet unilaterally hanging up the phone, Constantine blinked regretfully and looked at Clary in front of him, saying, "I'm sorry, he has no intention of coming. However, he wants you all to cooperate with me, so you will still have the opportunity to meet him in the future..."
"I understand, I will try my best!" Clary said with a determined look in her eyes.
Originally, Constantine didn't think much of the Shadow Hunter, but now that Clary and the others have regained their abilities and are even stronger than before, and they also have a Guardian can open Portal at any time, Constantine accepted them without hesitation.
Constantine had always wanted to learn how to use Portal. He stole the Magic Book from Kamar-Taj specifically for the purpose of Portal, but he failed to steal the Constantine Sling Ring, nor the Portal magic itself. This was considered the core magic of Kamar-Taj, and it was indeed not easy to steal.
But now, Constantine also possesses his own Portal. In a way, could Constantine be considered a rival to Kamar-Taj?
Previously, Constantine was single and had no family to worry about, but now Constantine feels it's quite nice to have a few people helping him out. Of course, the premise is that he can help those Shadow Hunter who lack healing abilities find a place to live; otherwise, apart from Clary, the Guardian and others might not stay to help him...
"Who is it?" Kara asked Robet warily from the other side. Because it was Telepathy Magic, Kara had no idea who Robet was communicating with. In fact, if Robet hadn't mentioned it earlier, Kara wouldn't have known that someone had contacted Robet.
"Constantine, the guy who took the Shadow Hunter away before..." Robet explained briefly to Kara.
"Has Clary regained her abilities too?" Kara's gaze appeared before Clary's eyes as she stared directly into Robet's eyes and asked.
"She's recovered. Constantine mentioned her first." Robet and said frankly.
"Hmph! Don't you know what she means?" Kara asked with a slightly disgruntled snort.
"I know, but I won't pay any attention to it," Robet said earnestly, looking into Kara's eyes.
"And what about Diana?" Kara asked, her eyes glistening with emotion as she listened to Robet's words, her lips suddenly pursed.
"Uh..." A hint of embarrassment flashed across Robet's face. For a moment, she didn't know how to answer. Kara had told her not to mention Diana in front of her, so why Kara bringing up Diana herself now?
"When are you planning to go see her?" But to Robet's surprise, that question was just the first in a barrage of questions; the following questions were even more Robet!
