Background

Long Ling was originally a Kui Water Spirit Dragon born from a fragment of the shattered Source of All Water. Her incomplete origin would eventually have hindered her cultivation, prompting Luo Qing to prepare her transformation into a water-attributed Innate Sacred Being 256.

She arrived alongside the Kui Water Divine Thunder and became Luo Qing's second Direct Disciple. Clever and affectionate, she quickly grew close to Xuan Nü, Yan Sheng, and Fairy Xihua, while Yan Sheng took responsibility for looking after his new junior sister 167.

Luo Qing repeatedly restrained her cultivation before she reached the Grand Luo realm so that she could revert to innate more easily. During Hua Tian World's ascension, he supplied a Water Source Divine Position, a Water Element Emperor Position Dharma Form, and a divine-body construction method; Long Ling successfully condensed the Dharma Form seed and gained the foundation for sacred transformation 256.

Her bond with the Canghai Sea further strengthened that foundation. Her early innocence does not prevent her from making hard decisions. She rejects the Demon Race's recruitment efforts with open disdain, is willing to set aside personal ties for Hua Tian Peak's interests, and leads the Northern Domain campaign with decisive force when negotiation fails 214 842 583.

She is also considerate toward those close to her.
