Background / History

Huang Huai initially enters the Otherworld through a mysterious void portal after recovering from a high fever. He discovers that time passes consistently between both worlds and begins studying the Otherworld's books, learning that cultivators rely on Statues, supernatural powers, and Incense and Fire Prayer Power. Unable to rely on ordinary sect recruitment because of his unclear origins and unsuitable qualifications, he resolves to seek power through other means. 10 13 29

His turning point comes when the demon worshipper He Yuan attacks him. Holy Lord Emperor Guan manifests, kills He Yuan, and grants Huang Huai a cultivation method. Huang Huai subsequently builds his strength by transporting, enshrining, and awakening statues from the present world in the Otherworld. 28 30 56 110

During Dahe City's dried-corpse disaster, Huang Huai leads his Yellow Turban Warriors to protect civilians and exterminate demons. After helping resolve the crisis, he becomes the city's accepted protector and takes control of it; Dahe City is later renamed Huaxia City. 113 127 137

He values kindness and repayment. He protects the Du family in return for their earlier assistance, repays the Ji Clan's Prayer Power Beads, and treats friendship as a serious obligation rather than a political convenience. 110 153

Although initially reluctant to involve himself in large-scale conflict, Huang Huai cannot tolerate disorder that endangers ordinary people. His decision to defend Dahe City becomes the foundation of his territorial rule, and he repeatedly rescues cities and civilians threatened by demons. 112 113 158
