Early life and theory

Yu Xiaogang was the son of Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Sect Master Yu Yuanzhen, but his poor innate talent and mutated Martial Soul left him unable to break through Level 29 for much of his life. His status within the sect deteriorated to the point that he was regarded as a disgrace and ultimately cast out. 3 99 106

Unable to establish himself through cultivation, Yu Xiaogang focused on Martial Soul theory. He presented himself as a great theoretical master and promoted the Ten Core Competencies of Martial Soul, though he later admitted that he had taken major theories and research materials from Martial Soul Hall. 4 99

At Nuoding Academy, Yu Xiaogang accepted Tang San as his disciple despite being only a Level 29 Soul Grandmaster. 4 He became suspicious when Xiao Ze, who possessed Innate Level 2 Soul Power, reached Level 10 in three years.
