Appearance
Fu Xi’s innate Dao body is a Human Head Dragon Body. Its features embody his command of Taiyi, Yin-Yang, and the Xiantian Bagua. 129 255
- Innate Dragon Scales can devour or reflect divine abilities, rendering many ordinary methods ineffective. 255
- His eyes carry the light of sun and moon and evolve the Dao of Taiji Yin-Yang. 255
- A third divine eye identifies openings in an opponent’s attacks. 255
- His divine heart resonates with surrounding time and space, allowing him to draw upon exceptional amounts of heaven-and-earth power. 255
- His serpent tail churns the void, while his spine unifies the mysteries of his Dao body. 255
Personality
Fu Xi is composed, dignified, and notably protective of his reputation. When he first encounters Xuan Yin, he refuses even to consider taking the junior’s opportunity and is irritated that Xuan Yin treats him as though he might seize it. 74
He is also a determined opponent of predestination. Learning of the repeated cycles in which he becomes the Human Race’s Heavenly Emperor convinces him that he must not simply repeat a role assigned by Heaven. He instead chooses to establish a Human Dao Divine Dynasty independent of the Heavenly Court. 107 130
Despite his upright bearing, Fu Xi is not naïve. He warns Xuan Yin not to idealize him based on knowledge of past cycles, later transfers most of his Human Dao karma to Haotian as part of a calculated scheme, and uses his apparent Dao dissipation to lure out threats to the Human Race. 131 288 299
Abilities & Skills
Xiantian Bagua
Fu Xi’s foremost Dao is the Xiantian Bagua, developed from his comprehension of the Taiyi Great Dao. It models the transformations of Heaven and Earth, permits reverse calculation of the future, and can evolve into numerous divine abilities. 130
- Uses the eight powers of Heaven and Earth to suppress opponents and stabilize or shatter space. 150 225
- Can derive divine abilities from individual trigrams, including wind, fire, mountain, thunder, water, and other Bagua correspondences. 130 254
- Employs the Bagua as a formation foundation and as the basis for opening Heaven and Earth with a single stroke. 254
- His post-reincarnation divinations become “black hexagrams” because the Heavenly Dao has blacklisted him; predictions tend to reverse their expected outcomes. 272
Taiyi Great Dao
As a being born in response to Taiyi, Fu Xi views existence through the principle of “one”: the first movement from nothing into something. 74
- Wields Taiyi Divine Thunder. 121 129
- Uses Taiyi power to prevent Xuan Yin from escaping punishment through transformation or feigned death. 130
- Integrates Taiyi with the Xiantian Bagua and his innate Dao body in combat. 225
- Uses the Taiyi Seal during the creation of the New Human Dao. 297
Indestructible Immortal Sense
Fu Xi imparts this cultivation method to Xuan Yin after recognizing the latter’s unusual foundation. 74
- Causes every particle of the cultivator’s physical body and primordial spirit to develop spirituality. 74
- Tempers these spiritual particles through Immortal Golden Nature. 74
- Coordinates the resulting particles through the True Self consciousness, rather than pursuing the Three Pure Ones’ path of returning toward Supreme Nothingness. 74
Innate Dao Body
Fu Xi has developed his physical Dao body to an extraordinary level, with strength approaching that of an Ancestral Witch despite not being of the Wu Clan. 255
- Dragon Scales neutralize a vast majority of divine abilities. 255
- His third eye and divine heart provide both combat perception and control over ambient power. 255
- His body can merge with the Xiantian Bagua, Taiyi Great Dao, and the void itself during battle. 225
Dynasty of Destiny
Fu Xi creates a method of rulership that uses the Destiny of the masses as both furnace and fuel, increasing the prestige and power of a unified human polity. 291
- Unites more than a hundred tribes around the Hua Xu tribe into the foundation of a Dynasty of Destiny. 291
- Promotes multiple cultivation systems among humanity, including the Human Immortal Dao, Human God path, Ancestral God path, Divine Path, Golden Core Great Dao, and Nuwa’s Creation method. 291
- Uses the system to gather Human Dao Destiny and prepare the Human Race for expansion into other realms. 291
Human Dao Creation
After separating most of his karmic burden from himself, Fu Xi evolves a New Human Dao rather than allowing the old one to remain controlled by Sage factions. 288 297
- Uses the Innate Five Primes, Innate Five Virtues, acquired Five Virtues, and multiple Human Dao cultivation systems as its foundation. 297
- Seizes the Kongtong Seal and uses it to suppress the New Human Dao’s foundation. 296 297
- Integrates the Vajra Ring into the Human Dao’s origin alongside the Kongtong Seal. 297
- Leaves behind Tai Hao, an incarnation entrusted to the Kongtong Seal, after Dao Integration. 298
Equipment
- Fu Xi Qin — Supreme-grade Innate Spiritual Treasure accompanying Fu Xi at birth; used to release Great Dao music and disrupt Haotian’s rhythm in battle. 150 225
- Dragon Head Cane — Supreme-grade Innate Spiritual Treasure acquired from Dijun; can manifest a fortune golden dragon. Fu Xi later entrusts it to Suirenshi. 150 173 299
- Jingyang Bell — Supreme-grade Innate Spiritual Treasure acquired from Dijun and later transferred to Suirenshi. 150 299
- Zhou Tian Star Chart — Ziwei’s companion Supreme-grade Innate Spiritual Treasure; records the trajectories of all stars and is lent to Xuan Yin for organizing the Primordial Starry Sky. 150 229
- Taiyi Emperor Crown — A treasure carrying Eastern Emperor Taiyi’s authority; used to suppress other Divine Path authorities. 224
- Yuanshi Talisman Seal — Contains Sage Dao Charm and nearly kills Haotian during their decisive battle. 225
- Kongtong Seal — Seized from Taishang Laojun with the Vajra Ring and made a foundational treasure of the New Human Dao. 296 297
Relationships
- Nuwa — His sister and a central karmic connection. Their sibling bond becomes fractured after Fu Xi’s feigned death and escape, yet Nuwa still conceals heavenly secrets to protect his plans and later teaches Xuan Yin how to attain the Fuxi Dao Fruit. 171 229
- Xuan Yin — Student, ally, and frequent co-conspirator. Fu Xi grants him the Indestructible Immortal Sense and Xiantian Bagua teachings, appoints him military adviser of the Human Dao Divine Dynasty, and later works with him to redirect Human Dao karma and target the Kongtong Seal. 74 130 288 290
- Dijun — Fellow Demon Clan leader and trusted confidant. Dijun reveals the secret of Epoch Reincarnation to Fu Xi and asks him to safeguard surviving Demon Clan members should Fu Xi lead humanity. 107
- Haotian — Political and military rival. Their conflict over the Heavenly Court and Human Dao Divine Dynasty escalates into a battle that destroys Haotian’s body and draws Heavenly Punishment upon Fu Xi. 171 225
- Suirenshi — One of the Three Ancestors of the Human Race and Fu Xi’s chosen successor for the Heavenly Emperor Dao Fruit. Fu Xi uses a Human Dao Divine Contract to transfer the fruit, along with the Dragon Head Cane and Jingyang Bell, to him. 291 299
- The Three Ancestors of the Human Race — Early supporters of Fu Xi’s efforts to unite human tribes and establish the Dynasty of Destiny. 132 291
- Ying Zhao — A longtime Demon Clan companion and the first major Demon Clan power to support Fu Xi’s Human Dao Divine Dynasty. 132 173
- Tianwu and Di Ting — Fu Xi punishes both after uncovering their role in spreading rumors about him, with Di Ting exposing Xuan Yin’s involvement to save himself. 130
Story Role / Major Arcs
Demon Clan affairs and meeting Xuan Yin
Fu Xi participates in Demon Clan strategy discussions concerning the Star Dou Great Formation and the need for a cultivator to govern the Lunar Star. He later encounters Xuan Yin in the North Sea, sees through the latter’s layered cultivation, accepts spiritual fruits from the Five-Needle Pine without coveting them, and teaches him the Indestructible Immortal Sense. 73 74
Defying the ordained Human Emperor role
After Dijun reveals the secrets of Epoch Reincarnation, Fu Xi realizes that he has repeatedly been pushed into the same Human Emperor role. He rejects this predetermined mandate and founds the Human Dao Divine Dynasty, seeking to stand alongside the Heavenly Court and Underworld rather than beneath them. 107 130
He recruits support from the Human Race, Demon Clan, Dragon Race, Phoenix Race, and Qilin Race. His proposed imperial structure includes the Spirit Emperor, Rain Emperor, Nether Emperor, Blood Emperor, and Year Emperor. 132 136 141
Conflict with Haotian
At Haotian’s Peach Festival, Fu Xi rejects incorporation into the Heavenly Court and exposes the instability of the Heavenly Emperor position. He remains calm under accusations of disrespecting the Dao Ancestor, while Xuan Yin openly defends him. 144
Haotian later uses the Nail Head Seven Arrows Book to curse Fu Xi. Xuan Yin and Zhao Gongming intervene at Nuwa’s command, with Zhao Gongming transferring the curse away from Fu Xi. 171 172
Fu Xi eventually confronts Haotian directly, using the Fu Xi Qin, Xiantian Bagua, Taiyi Emperor Crown, and Yuanshi Talisman Seal. Although he devastates Haotian and destroys the Investiture of the Gods List, the resulting karma draws down Heavenly Punishment, forcing him to feign death and evade pursuit through reincarnation. 224 225
Open-sourcing the Fuxi Dao Fruit
Unable to return while pursued by Heavenly Punishment, Fu Xi accepts Xuan Yin’s proposal to make the Fuxi Dao Fruit inheritable. He opens his Great Dao to the Human Race so that successive beings may attain “Fu Xi,” gather their wisdom, and strengthen Humanity Dao. 228 229
He projects his Dao Fruit and companion treasure into the Taiyi Dao Era, becoming the first being to trace back to the Most Ancient Source in this manner. 229
Reincarnation and the New Human Dao
Fu Xi reincarnates into the Human Race as Pao Xi Shi. Though rejected by the Heavenly Dao and plagued by reversed divinations, he gains Humanity Dao Destiny through human development, livestock domestication, and improved tools. 270 272
After awakening his memories, he works with Xuan Yin to transfer seventy percent of his Human Dao karma to Haotian and disbands the Human Dao Divine Dynasty. 286 288 289 He then develops the Dynasty of Destiny, unites human tribes, and prepares to evolve a new Human Dao independent of Sage control. 291
Fu Xi ultimately seizes the Kongtong Seal, sacrifices himself, and integrates into the New Human Dao as Tai Hao. The Heavenly Emperor Dao Fruit is secretly passed to Suirenshi to ensure humanity retains a powerful protector. 296 297 299
Notable Quotes
“I simply do not wish to submit to fate.” 130
“Do not overestimate the human heart.” 131
“The Human Dao is the Dao of all beings, how can it be achieved by me alone?” 290
Trivia
- Fu Xi’s early mastery of the Xiantian Bagua allows him to discover the rumor campaign led by Tianwu and Di Ting against him. 130
- His first reaction to Xuan Yin’s respectful title of “Holy Mother’s Elder Brother” is that it sounds excessively strange. 74
- Fu Xi’s reincarnated divinations are famously unreliable because the Heavenly Dao has blacklisted him; a prediction of rain may instead produce clear skies. 272
- The Fuxi Dao Fruit is intentionally designed to be a shared and inheritable Dao Fruit rather than an authority exclusive to one individual. 229
