Background / History

Gui Xi Sect was created through Jintian’s Establish a Sect player path. Unlike players who begin as natives and seek a sect in the wider cultivation world, the guild spent resources to construct a sect of its own, gaining access to dedicated functional NPCs, resource allocation, and sect-management systems. Its name was deliberately chosen to sound ancient and orthodox enough to appeal to native cultivators. 2

Before recruiting Su Ling'er, the sect had spent months without attracting a single native disciple despite building expensive facilities, including the Monster Locking Tower and Dao Seeking Ladder. Its only NPC personnel were system-issued versions of Qian Buyu, who filled several administrative roles and occasionally malfunctioned. 2

Su Ling'er's arrival became the sect’s first successful native recruitment and completed Lin Qingfeng’s quest, The Guide. Her registration supplied the guild with its first intelligent native disciple and opened the path toward sect advancement. 2 8

After Su completed the Dao Seeking Ladder and visited the Sword Mound, the sect’s advancement preliminary quest activated. Because she was its only proper native NPC, her personal mission output became essential to accumulating the NPC contribution required for promotion. 33 45

Myriad Transformations Return to Origin True Art

A purple-rank fundamental art gifted to Su Ling'er as a welcome gift. It strengthens the foundation, tempers the body, improves affinity with spiritual energy, and reduces pain endured during cultivation. Qian Buyu’s demonstration reveals a route reaching the Nascent Soul Realm. 21

Sword Refining Art

Diligence and “Shedding Sect”

Lin Qingfeng presents constant activity as a core Gui Xi principle: walking, movement, combat, and daily tasks are all framed as cultivation. 4

Su Ling'er improvises the phrase “Shedding Sect” after accidentally saying she wants to leave. She defines it as abandoning the old self and transcending the mortal coil; Lin Qingfeng accepts this interpretation as one of the sect’s principles. 14 15

Native Perception

Su Ling'er entered Gui Xi Sect believing it to be an ancient evil-cultivation lineage. She interprets its barren gate, player behavior, system effects, and NPC duplication as evidence of life-draining formations, murder, puppetry, and sect-wide coercion. 1 4 6

The player disciples, however, recognize many of these events as game systems or bugs. Qian Buyu’s identical appearances are reused functional NPC models, while his erratic behavior includes glitches such as freezing, teleporting players, and entering an indiscriminate auto-attack state. 2 7 8

This divide is especially evident in the sect’s experimental activities: Ji volunteers for pill-refinement and sacrifice roles as a player, revives afterward, and continues participating in sect operations, while Su interprets such scenes as permanent deaths and ritual sacrifice. 7 13 33
