The Jade Emperor gathered powerful allies at Zhang Yifan’s farmhouse, made Primeval Lord of Heaven an attendant, and planned to seize control of the Human Dao. At the Spiritual Mountain Grand Gathering, the Jade Emperor and Sect Master Tongtian openly challenged the Western Teachings’ authority.

• The Jade Emperor chose Chai Daohuang and Zhang Ziguo as attendants to control the Dao of Emotion and the Dao of Kitchen Fire, then declared that he would become the Tribulation Master.
• The Jade Emperor promised Chai Daohuang a chance to reunite with Su Daji, while Ancestor Dragon abducted Four Unlike and Tongtian helped First Qilin knock Yuanshi unconscious.
• Tongtian and the others brought Yuanshi to Zhang Yifan’s farmhouse, where Yuanshi became an attendant and Yang Jian became Vice Sect Master of Chan Teachings.
• The Jade Emperor learned Zhang Yifan’s plan for a loyal confidant to reincarnate as the Eastern Tang heir and decided to combine it with the Heaven Shattering Plan.
• The Western Teachings held a grand gathering at Spiritual Mountain, where Zhunti displayed the sect’s power and the Jade Emperor’s supporters welcomed him despite Guanyin’s opposition.
• The Jade Emperor arrived and demanded the central seat, then Tongtian smashed Zhunti’s tables and raised a higher platform for the Jade Emperor.
• When the Western Teachings’ Destiny Golden Dragon attacked the Jade Emperor and Tongtian, the Jade Emperor ordered Yang Jian to kill it.

The Heavenly Court challenged the Western Teachings, won the contest, and Yang Jian killed Great Master Guanyin and Hongjun’s avatar. Hongjun concealed his anger and rewarded Yang Jian, while Zhang Yifan set out for Fengxian County in a sedan chair carried by Primeval Lord of Heaven and Matchmaker Emperor Xin.

• Yang Jian, Yunxiao, and the Howling Celestial Dog repeatedly slew the Destiny Golden Dragon while Sect Master Tongtian held off Zhunti and Jieyin, then the dog fouled the Western Teachings’ Sea of Destiny.
• After the Jade Emperor exposed the Western Teachings’ crimes and branded them a criminal syndicate, Great Master Guanyin arranged a three-round contest between the Western Teachings and the Heavenly Court.
• Li Er defeated Manjushri Bodhisattva with his spear and died after burning his soul, while the Nine Golden Crows preserved a tiny flame of his true spirit.
• Taibai Jinxing battered Samantabhadra Bodhisattva, but the Heavenly Court won the round when Samantabhadra conceded and Taibai was ruled the personal loser for continuing to attack.
• Yang Jian killed Great Master Guanyin in one strike, then smashed Hongjun’s avatar with the Dog Beating Stick and claimed the slain figure was an impostor.
• At Zixiao Palace, Hongjun inspected Yang Jian’s staff without discovering its nature, questioned his strength, and gave him an innate spiritual treasure while hiding his anger.
• Primeval Lord of Heaven warned Zhunti and Jieyin not to harm Yang Jian, while Grand Pure Saint departed to accelerate his plans.
• Zhang Yifan dressed for his journey to Fengxian County, and Primeval Lord of Heaven and Matchmaker Emperor Xin won the lots to carry his bamboo sedan chair.

Zhang Yifan shattered Tang Sanzang’s faith in the Western Teachings, turning Fengxian County toward the Human Dao and sending Tang to marry the Queen of the Women's Country. As the Western Teachings attacked the wedding, the Human Dao and its allies fought back, leaving Maitreya Buddha burning in chaos and Saint Zhunti’s power arriving.

• Zhang Yifan exposed the Western Teachings’ motives, broke Tang Sanzang’s Buddha Heart through their debate, and led Fengxian County’s people to proclaim the Human Dao.
• Tang Sanzang left to marry the Queen of the Women's Country, while Zhang Yifan shattered Sun Wukong’s golden circlet and the Western Teachings learned that their pilgrimage had failed.
• Saint Zhunti was struck twice by the Heavenly Dao, which punished the failed tribulation and stripped the Western Teachings of destiny.
• The Queen of the Women's Country married Tang Sanzang despite the Eighteen Arhats’ assault, and Sun Wukong killed most of the attackers before Maitreya Buddha arrived.
• Cangjie, Taibai Jinxing, Meng Xiaojiu, and Suirenshi confronted Maitreya Buddha while the Queen executed the surviving arhats.
• Suirenshi fought Maitreya Buddha in chaos and burned his Dharma Idol with the Human Race's Primordial Fire, while a mysterious shadow kicked Maitreya back into the chaos.
• Saint Zhunti’s voice and power swept through chaos as Maitreya Buddha called for rescue.

After Zhang Yifan’s courtyard became the center of a confrontation with the Western Teachings, Hongjun seized the Heavenly Dao and the Jade Emperor began the Heaven Shattering Plan. Divine manifestations spread Jade Emperor worship across the mortal world, while Yuan Tiangang prepared Li Shimin to question the Buddhist account of the Journey to the West.

• Saint Zhunti failed to save Maitreya Buddha from Suirenshi’s Primordial Fire, and First Qilin later killed Zhunti before returning to the Women's Country wedding.
• Kong Xuan challenged First Qilin at the wedding, but First Qilin subdued him and sent him to Fengxian County, where he became a peacock in Zhang Yifan’s courtyard.
• Zhang Yifan rescued County Marquis Shangguan’s family, defeated Buddha Burning Lamp, and brought him back to the courtyard as a hostage.
• Dao Ancestor Hongjun recruited Minghe and Zhen Yuanzi, ordered the Western Teachings to resume the Journey to the West Tribulation, then assimilated the Will of the Heavenly Dao and declared himself the Heavenly Dao.
• Zhang Yifan sent the Jade Emperor and the others back to the Heavenly Realm, where the Jade Emperor began the Heaven Shattering Plan by ordering divine manifestations across the mortal world.
• Shen Tu and Yu Lei manifested as Door Gods, exposed Teng Yonggui’s crimes, cleared Zhou Qingqing, and urged the people of Xinfeng County to worship the Jade Emperor.
• Yuan Hong’s miracles spread Jade Emperor worship through the Tang Dynasty, and Wu Meiniang persuaded Li Shimin to make a royal pilgrimage to Xinfeng County.
• Yuan Hong recruited Yuan Shoucheng for a task, while Yuan Tiangang told Li Shimin that the Jade Emperor was punishing him and described the Jade Emperor’s conflict with Guanyin and the Heavenly generals.
