The Jade Emperor then revealed his greater ambition to control the Dao of Tribulation and govern cultivation across the myriad worlds.

• The Jade Emperor told Yang Jian he had chosen the Matchmaker and Kitchen God Zhang Ziguo to control the Dao of Emotion and the Dao of Kitchen Fire.
• The Jade Emperor explained that household life and the Kitchen Lord’s influence over mortals made Zhang Ziguo essential to keeping humanity within his grasp.
• Yang Jian congratulated the Jade Emperor, but the Jade Emperor said those two Great Daos were not enough to govern beings who avoided love and family.

When Yang Jian told him that meals there contained Fragments of Great Dao Laws, Yuanshi eagerly accepted the arrangement, just as the Jade Emperor prepared to speak.

• Tongtian told Primeval Lord of Heaven that the farmhouse courtyard belonged to his grandfather, and Yuanshi realized he had found the secret place he had sought.
• Yang Jian revealed that the courtyard was also his maternal grandfather’s home, and Tongtian confirmed that he and Yang Jian called each other brothers.
