The Inner Court students were still joking about the incredible luck of this trip. Lin Yi had taken the lead in two hunts, and both had yielded Soul Bones.
Aside from Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beasts, which were guaranteed to produce Soul Bones, the odds of other Soul Beasts dropping one were pitifully low. Generally speaking, the older the Soul Beast and the stronger its bloodline, the more likely it was to yield a Soul Bone.
But getting two Soul Bones from just six hunts like this could no longer be described as extraordinarily lucky. It was the sort of result one could only get if Lady Luck personally blessed them and kissed them right on the face.
The students who had already obtained their Soul Rings felt somewhat dejected. Those who had yet to obtain theirs knew perfectly well how minuscule the odds of a Soul Bone appearing were, yet they could not help but entertain fantasies. What if?
Some had even decided that when it came time to hunt Soul Beasts, they would ask their junior brother Lin Yi to put in a little more effort, adding one more sliver of possibility to the chance of a Soul Bone dropping.
When reality could not provide an explanation, there was no harm in turning to mysticism.
And so, the situation that followed became...
"Junior brother, bind it! We're counting on you!"
"Good, junior brother, blind it! Blind it now!"
"Junior brother, use whatever methods you have. Consider it a favor owed by this senior brother."
It began with one person doing so, but the others seemed to draw inspiration from it. Before long, Lin Yi, an eight-year-old Soul Elder, had somehow become the main force of this Soul Hunting Team.
And absurdly enough, this freak's various methods really were effective.
