Background
Tang San is remembered across Douluo Continent as the founder of the Tang Sect, an exceptional former Shrek Academy student, and the Sea God who defeated Spirit Hall. Shrek’s historical image of him portrays him as “pure and spotless,” making later revelations about his conduct profoundly destabilizing to those who revered him. 184 218
According to Dugu Yan’s account, Tang San once helped Dugu Bo temporarily suppress the Jade Scale Absolute Poison backlash, then later claimed the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well after Dugu Bo’s death. Dugu Yan discovered that he had used Dugu Bo’s remains to cultivate Jade Scale Seven Absolute Flowers; after confronting him, she was killed by Tang San’s descending Divine Sense. 178
In the God Realm, Tang San simultaneously held the Asura God Position and the Sea God Position. Before his political downfall, he controlled the God Realm Central Hub, possessed veto power within the God Realm Committee, and commanded the loyalty of many gods who had ascended alongside him. 87
Divine Authority and Sanctions
| Event | Authority / Position | Outcome |
|---|---|---|
| God Realm influence | Held both the Asura God and Sea God Positions; controlled the God Realm Central Hub and exercised veto power in the Committee. 87 | Became one of the God Realm’s most powerful figures, with influence over more than half of its forces. 87 |
| Attack on Lin Yi | Attempted to kill Lin Yi after Lin Yi became Lord of the Plane. 224 | Forced to surrender control of the God Realm Central Hub; his God King’s Authority was temporarily stripped, and he was confined to Sea God Palace for one hundred years. 224 225 |
| Second judgment | Repeatedly interfered with the Douluo Plane while under punishment. 252 | The God of Destruction sealed the Asura God Position and initiated its inheritance; Tang San remained under house arrest. 253 |
| Loss of ocean control | Used the Sea God Position to control the Douluo Plane’s ocean force. 278 | Lin Yi, the World Ancient Tree, and the Douluo Plane reclaimed the ocean force, leaving Tang San’s Divine Sense without an anchor. 278 |
Personality
Tang San carefully cultivates an image of righteousness and stresses the authority of God Realm Law when it benefits him. His public reputation, political influence, and longstanding alliances initially shield him from scrutiny. 87 225
He is highly strategic and habitually prepares contingencies. Even after losing the God Realm Central Hub and being confined, he retained a backup plan involving the God of Love’s inheritance site, Ning Rongrong, Huo Yuhao, and Wang Dong’er. 238
Tang San reacts harshly to threats to his long-term control of the Douluo Plane. He views Lin Yi’s emergence as Lord of the Plane as intolerable because it undermines his ten-thousand-year plan, and he is willing to manipulate allies, descendants, and divine envoys to preserve that plan. 224 238 249

Story Role
Conflict with Lin Yi
Tang San becomes aware that Lin Yi’s identity as Lord of the Plane threatens his ten-thousand-year plan to control Douluo Continent. He attacks Lin Yi directly, but the God of Light and God of Darkness intervene, exposing his unauthorized interference in the lower realm. 224
The God Realm Committee strips Tang San of control over the Central Hub and confines him to Sea God Palace. Although he accepts the sentence outwardly, he continues planning from confinement. 224 225
Qiankun Asking Heart Valley Scheme
Tang San enlists Ning Rongrong to use the God of Love’s inheritance site against Huo Yuhao and Wang Dong’er. His objective is to preserve control over the Son of Fortune and prevent Lin Yi from becoming a complete Lord of the Plane. 238 250
When Huo Yuhao and Wang Dong’er enter Qiankun Asking Heart Valley, Tang San tries to exploit its god-level barrier and stalls Huo Yuhao while expecting Lin Yi to fail. Lin Yi breaches the valley with a god-level strike, rescues the pair, and ruins the scheme. 251 252
Repeated Punishment
Tang San’s interference despite house arrest prompts a second judgment. The God of Darkness exposes his actions, the Goddess of Life condemns his treatment of Xiao Qi, and the God of Destruction seals the Asura God Position. 252 253
Struggle for the Douluo Plane
Tang San later attempts to preserve his grip on the ocean force of the Douluo Plane. Lin Yi uses the World Tree Incarnation to sever Tang San’s connection, reclaiming the ocean for the plane and forcing Tang San’s Divine Sense to dissipate. 278
As Lin Yi ascends as the World God and true Lord of the Plane, Tang San disrupts the Douluo Plane’s elevation, severely wounds the plane, and forces Lin Yi to merge his Minor World with it. 281 282
