Li Changle stepped out of his room and saw Wang Siyi emerging from hers. She looked as though she had not slept well last night, with rather heavy dark circles under her eyes.

"Morning."

Li Changle greeted her.

Wang Siyi nodded without saying anything. Li Changle did not mind. After spending last night together, he had realized that this Rich Woman did not seem good at talking to people. Or perhaps she was simply aloof.

After washing up, Li Changle began making breakfast. He still decided on noodles.

He took out two portions of noodles from the refrigerator, some original broth, and then two eggs.

He lit both burners at once, using one to heat the broth and the other to boil water for blanching the noodles.

Then he turned on the induction cooker and fried two runny-yolk eggs in a pan. Five minutes later, two simple bowls of egg noodles were ready.

Li Changle asked Wang Siyi, who was sitting on the sofa, "Do you want breakfast?"

Wang Siyi nodded and walked straight to the dining table, picked up her chopsticks, and began eating.

She finished the noodles quickly. Wang Siyi once again drank every last drop of the broth. This time, she did not blush, but calmly set down her bowl and chopsticks before getting up to return to her room.

As if recalling something, she turned around and said to Li Changle, "Thank you for the noodles."

Li Changle did not respond, because he had watched Wang Siyi smoothly go from picking up her chopsticks to finishing the soup in just three minutes.

And judging by the way Wang Siyi had been sitting on the sofa early in the morning, she seemed to have gotten up quite early.

Could it be that she had known from the start that Li Changle would cook noodles in the morning, and had been sitting there waiting to eat?

Thinking about it, though, that seemed a little absurd. His noodles did taste pretty good, but surely not good enough to make a Rich Woman keep coming back for more.

In fact, Li Changle had guessed correctly. Wang Siyi had gotten up early just for his bowl of noodles. And since it was broad daylight, she did not really dare walk outside alone.

Besides, Li Changle's noodles really were delicious.

Wang Siyi sent Xiuxiu a WeChat message, asking her to mail over the keys she had left in Shanghai. Last night, she had planned to have Xiuxiu bring them directly, but she had changed her mind.

If Xiuxiu came over directly, Wang Siyi would have to move back across the hall today, and she might not get to eat Li Changle's noodles anymore.

She would stay here for a few more days. Once he got used to cooking noodles for her, she could still come over to mooch meals even after moving back.

Wang Siyi did not have the nerve to directly ask Li Changle to cook for her. She had always been thin-skinned; how could she say something like that, especially to a man?

Wang Siyi no longer had any concerns about living in this apartment. She had known from the beginning that Li Changle was a good person, and after staying one night, she had found that he had tactfully never disturbed her.

Other than it being somewhat inconvenient to share a home with a man, there was nothing much to worry about. Besides, her room was the master bedroom with its own bathroom, so there was nothing to feel awkward about.

Li Changle did not feel much about having an extra woman in the apartment, aside from needing to make an extra portion whenever he cooked.

And not being able to smoke. Other than that, his life was still the same as usual, with no real changes.

Whenever he saw how satisfied Wang Siyi was with the food he made, Li Changle felt an overwhelming sense of accomplishment.

Not smoking was good for his health. That was a good thing. If possible, quitting altogether would not be bad either. He just did not know how long Wang Siyi planned to stay here.

For the past three days, Li Changle had been in his room writing the opening of Legend of Sword and Fairy. After revising it over and over for several days, he ultimately decided to go with the official version.

It was not that Li Changle could not write it himself; he simply felt that what he wrote was still not as good as the official Legend of Sword and Fairy novel.

So he stopped agonizing over it. He would settle the opening first, then consider what came next.

Over the past few days, Li Changle had occasionally heard guitar music coming from the living room while he was in his room.

But as for that melody... how should he put it? Li Changle thought it was just so-so.

Wang Siyi was probably playing the guitar. At first, Li Changle had not expected that she could play.

But why had he never heard the tunes she played? They were not songs from this world, and they were not particularly pleasant either. Was she writing songs?

At first, Li Changle had not paid attention to Wang Siyi's identity. He was simply curious that she could play guitar. In his understanding, girls who could play guitar and write songs were fairly rare.

"Whew. I've finally settled the opening."

Li Changle stood up and stretched, then checked the time. It was five o'clock. Time to cook.

When he stepped out of his room, he unsurprisingly found Wang Siyi playing the guitar. She really did seem to be writing songs.

None of the melodies she had played these past few days had repeated, but even Li Changle, an amateur, could tell that they were mediocre. She probably was not satisfied with them herself.

When Wang Siyi saw Li Changle come out, after failing for three straight days to produce a melody she liked, she irritably tossed the guitar onto the sofa beside her.

"Are you writing songs?"

Li Changle finally voiced the question that had been on his mind for three days.

Wang Siyi glanced at Li Changle and nodded. She was not in a good mood, so that was all the response she gave.

Li Changle said nothing and opened the refrigerator to prepare dinner, only to find there were not many vegetables left.

He turned to Wang Siyi and said,

"There aren't any vegetables left in the refrigerator. I'm going to buy groceries. Is there anything you want to eat?"

"Whatever you decide is fine. If you can, make some soup."

Wang Siyi approved of Li Changle's cooking, especially his soups. From childhood to adulthood, she had never tasted soup so delicious.

Li Changle was clearly quite confident in his soup-making skills. There was no special secret to it—only practice.

In his previous life, he had been a corporate drone with no time to work out, so he could only focus on what he ate.

As a Cantonese man, he had inherited the fine genes of Cantonese people and was born knowing how to make soup.

Even while working overtime every day, he had somehow learned to make soup amid his busy schedule, and could make all kinds of soups with ease. It could not be helped—his mother had felt sorry for him.

So she had taught Li Changle all the soup-making experience she had accumulated over decades, allowing him to still feel the warmth of good food amid the blessings of the 996 work schedule. Though Li Changle was only twenty-two now,

His mental age was actually already twenty-six, and his life experience was not something a young man fresh out of college could compare to.

He knew how important health was, so he made soup at least three times a week. He did not make it every day because the purines would go through the roof; he could not drink it daily, or he would easily get gout...

Li Changle nodded at Wang Siyi's words, casually grabbed the keys hanging on the refrigerator, and headed out.

"Sometimes, sometimes, I'll believe that everything has an end~"

"Meetings and partings all have their time; nothing lasts forever."

Li Changle hummed as he went out. These past few days, Wang Siyi's not-so-pleasant melodies had tortured his ears so badly that even his writing of Legend of Sword and Fairy 1 had felt unsatisfying.

So after thinking for several days, Li Changle had finally come up with this method. He planned to indirectly tell Wang Siyi that she was not suited to writing songs.

See? A tune I hummed casually sounds better than the guitar melodies you've been playing for days. Stop playing...

Li Changle hummed rather loudly, so Wang Siyi heard it too. Upon hearing the melody and lyrics, Wang Siyi froze.

She had never heard this song before, and both its melody and lyrics were excellent.

How could such a beautiful song come humming out of this guy's mouth? It never occurred to her that Li Changle was indirectly taking a jab at her.

When Li Changle saw that Wang Siyi did not pay special attention to the tune he had hummed, he left, somewhat disappointed.

Was my hint not subtle enough? Li Changle fell into thought, planning to find another way to make Wang Siyi give up on writing songs.

This time, Li Changle bought a great deal of ingredients, both vegetables and meat, filling two large bags. He did not know how long Wang Siyi would be staying.

The ingredients he had bought before had originally been enough for five days, but they had only lasted three. He did not want to keep coming downstairs to shop every few days, so he simply bought a huge pile and stuffed the refrigerator full.

When Wang Siyi saw Li Changle return carrying bag after bag of ingredients, then watched him fill the refrigerator bit by bit, she was dumbfounded. Was this guy a squirrel? Even squirrels did not hoard food like this.

Li Changle did not look at Wang Siyi. He was choosing the ingredients for tonight's meal.

At Wang Siyi's request, he would make fish maw old hen soup tonight.

He would also make sweet-and-sour ribs and a vegetable dish. Two dishes and one soup, all in generous portions. It should be enough for two people.

After busying himself in the kitchen for two hours, no more guitar sounds came from the living room, and Li Changle finally breathed a sigh of relief.

It seemed Wang Siyi had finally backed down in the face of difficulty. At the dinner table, Wang Siyi suddenly said to Li Changle, "I'm moving back tomorrow."

Li Changle was overjoyed. He would no longer have to suffer through the guitar, but he could not show it. He merely asked simply,

"Moving where?"

Wang Siyi raised her head and looked at Li Changle. The joy in his eyes was impossible to hide. Wang Siyi immediately frowned and said somewhat coldly,

"Across the hall."

Li Changle had not even realized that the delight in his eyes was impossible to conceal.

When he heard that Wang Siyi planned to move to the apartment across the hall, he did not feel much. As long as she did not play guitar in this apartment, that was enough.

Thinking of all the ingredients he had bought, and that Wang Siyi would be living across the hall, he simply said,

"Then come over for meals when it's time to eat. I bought a lot of ingredients, and I can't finish so much by myself. They'll go bad if they sit too long."

Wang Siyi was very unhappy at how delighted Li Changle had seemed by her moving out.

It was as if she had been shamelessly clinging to this place, and she felt sullen.

Yet after hearing Li Changle's words, she was confused. This guy wanted her to move out.

But he was also asking her to come over for meals. She did not know what he meant.

Still, Wang Siyi neither refused nor accepted Li Changle's suggestion. She merely said flatly, "We'll see."

After saying that, she ignored Li Changle and drank her soup moodily. She also ate nearly all the sweet-and-sour ribs on the table, not leaving a single piece for Li Changle.

Li Changle was baffled by Wang Siyi's sudden little tantrum. He had no idea why she looked so angry, and he did not dare provoke her, quietly eating his vegetables instead.

Trembling in fear.
