Chen Changan and Mu Yunyao had just been about to sit down when someone suddenly stepped forward and questioned the pills Chen Changan had presented.
Hearing the man, Chen Changan looked toward the direction his voice had come from.
He was a young man dressed in fine clothes, with sharp brows and striking eyes. He was rather handsome, but although he looked righteous, it seemed that a trace of wickedness lurked beneath that righteousness.
"Who's this?"
"But he does have quite a bearing. Hmm... he seems like one of those... what do you call them... gentlemen?"
Chen Changan furrowed his brow and thought hard.
"Are you trying to say 'a modest gentleman'?"
"No, no, that's not it."
"I've got it. A hypocrite. Yes, he looks like a hypocrite no matter how you slice it."
"That's so fitting. He's practically the perfect embodiment of the words 'hypocrite.'"
"Don't you think so?"
Chen Changan's words made the young man's face darken. The smug look he'd been wearing vanished in an instant.
The others, meanwhile, showed no obvious reaction, but their eyes still gave away what they really thought.
No one who came here was a fool; every last one of them was sharp as a tack. The young man had put on a good act, but anyone with eyes could see right through him. He was putting on a straight-laced front, but he couldn't completely hide the wickedness at his core.
For whatever reason, though, they hadn't called him out. They'd simply spared him the embarrassment.

"Are you trying to change the subject?"
"Why don't you dare answer my question?"
