Background / History

Ten thousand years before the story's opening, Mu Yunyao discovered the six-year-old Chen Changan and accepted him as her disciple after noticing his unprecedented physique. Though he could memorize every teaching after one lesson, he could not cultivate; Mu Yunyao therefore spent years imparting all of her lifelong knowledge and searching for treasures that might change his condition. Eventually unable to endure his behavior any longer, she drove him away after ten thousand years together. 1

In the Great Profound Realm, Mu Yunyao was known as the Peerless Empress. She rose above an era of prodigies through the Heaven, Earth, and Human Rankings and never established a faction, yet no power dared challenge her. Her reputation was secured when she instantly killed another peak Great Emperor with a single move. 159

She later disclosed that she originated from the Mu Family, one of the nine great immortal clans of the Primordial Immortal Realm. The Great Profound Realm was one of the small worlds controlled by the Zhou Family, itself a Mu Family vassal. Her deeper origin emerged in the Saint Domain: Mu Yunyao is the reincarnation of Feng Xueyao, a Saint Blood Race member who possessed the Void Emperor Overlord Physique.
