"Then why didn't you answer me earlier?"

"Who exactly are you? Or, are you even human?"
"What are you after?" Chen Changan asked with a frown.
"Help."
Her reply was brief, and her tone held no sign of emotion. She still sounded very much like a puppet.
"Fine. Then answer one question for me."
"Did you stop me just now because you didn't want me to erase you from my consciousness?"
"Are you worried that doing so would affect you?"
"Or do you not want other people to be unaffected by you?" Chen Changan asked.
After Chen Changan finished speaking, the other party fell silent, as if considering how to answer—or perhaps whether to answer at all.
"Yes."
"You can save me."
