Nodding, shaking her head
Treading Moon's behavior left Chen Changan a little puzzled.
Did nodding mean she didn't want to speak, while shaking her head answered his question about whether she couldn't speak?
"You don't want to talk, right?" Chen Changan asked.
She nodded.
Seeing that Treading Moon didn't want to talk, Chen Changan found himself at a loss. If she could speak, why wouldn't she?
Was she really that withdrawn?
Could she have some kind of psychological problem?
"I'm quite skilled in medicine."
"Though I'm not especially good with psychological problems, I think I should treat you anyway."
"Come on, tell me what's troubling you. Let me help you sort it out," Chen Changan said with a smile.
At his words, Treading Moon looked at Chen Changan helplessly, as if to say, Are you crazy? I just told you I don't want to talk, and now you're telling me to talk about my troubles?
If I could talk about them, would they even be troubles?
"You can send a voice transmission, too."
"No one else will hear. I'll keep it secret," Chen Changan said with a smile.
A voice transmission?
Hearing that, hesitation crept into Treading Moon's eyes. She seemed to be weighing whether or not to send one.
"I soun' ba' when I talk."

What... had she just said?
Treading Moon's words left Chen Changan rooted to the spot.
He could tell that Treading Moon had a girl's voice, and it was incredibly pleasant to listen to.
But the words that came out of her mouth...
Chen Changan couldn't imagine how such a lovely, ethereal voice could have such a thick accent.
