Background

The Human King was once Great Yu's most celebrated martial prodigy and its unquestioned strongest expert. At his height, he single-handedly suppressed both the Fortune Heavenly Sect and the Fortune Sacred Sect, two of Great Yu's foremost national sects. 124

His first attempt to reach the Creation Realm failed because Ye Hentian secretly attacked him. Ye then posed as his savior, leaving the Human King convinced that he owed Ye his life and willing to serve as Ye's pawn. 132

More than twenty years before his final battle with Ren Xiaoyao, the Human King investigated the mysterious deaths of the Great Shang Celestial Dynasty's princes. In a forbidden area of the Great Shang palace, he found a drop of Ancient Emperor Heart Blood and a talisman containing Golden Crow True Flame. He treated the Heart Blood as a supreme treasure and spent twenty years refining it. 201

He also founded the Heaven and Earth Society. Its first members were Heavenly Venerate and Earthly Venerate, after which it recruited the masters of fortune from six major imperial dynasties. In his earlier prime, he was said to have pressured several Celestial Dynasties by himself. 151

Before entering seclusion, the Human King declared that he would not emerge unless he attained the Martial Shattering Void Realm. His retreat was driven partly by his earlier defeat to Shi Tiandi, whose longer cultivation and Phoenix True Blood had overwhelmed him. 151 194

Appearance

The Human King was initially seen as a withered, thin old man in black robes, outwardly resembling someone near death. In battle, however, he radiated immense qi and blood, appearing like a blazing sun or a deity standing above all beings. 126 127

  • Black robes during his arrival at Son of Heaven Lake. 126

Personality

The Human King possessed immense pride in his martial attainments and regarded overwhelming strength as the answer to every scheme or challenge. After emerging from seclusion, he publicly dismissed Immortal Chang Sheng as someone unable to survive even one of his attacks. 197

He was also relentless and unwilling to accept defeat. His loss to Shi Tiandi became a lasting humiliation that drove two decades of seclusion, while his defeat by Ren Xiaoyao pushed him to use forbidden and self-destructive measures rather than yield. 194 200

Despite his fearsome reputation, he was manipulated by Ye Hentian for years, believing the man who sabotaged his breakthrough had saved him. 132
