Power Progression

Background and History

After a calamity affecting the human race, Houtu transformed herself into the Six Paths of Reincarnation, hoping to prove her Dao and protect the Witch Clan. Her attempt failed after others schemed against the Ancestral Witch body she had prepared. Without a suitable body, she remained in the Underworld while her Nascent Soul was gradually assimilated by reincarnation 207.

Deng Jiugong forged her a new body from Pangu’s Blood Essence and other materials. Houtu entered it, attained sainthood, and gained the ability to leave the Underworld. She then told Deng of the Three Daos—Heaven, Earth, and Human—and her aim to awaken the suppressed Earthly Dao 208 209.

When a battle between Saints threatened to shatter the Primordial continent, Houtu left seclusion before a breakthrough to stop it. She briefly trapped five Saints with reincarnation power and offered to mediate their disputes. She later awakened the Earthly Dao’s will and became its Dao Ancestor 243 244 274.

Houtu and Deng Jiugong continued to cooperate against Hongjun and invading Chaos Demon Gods. Their relationship eventually became romantic, and Houtu prepared for their wedding in the Underworld 299 591 704.
