Background
Kong Xuan is the first peacock born in the Primordial Era and the child of Yuan Feng, former leader of the Phoenix Clan. Yuan Feng is described as his sole parent: Kong Xuan was born from a sparrow egg after primordial five-element Spiritual Energy entered Yuan Feng's body. He has lived for countless eons despite maintaining the appearance of a young man. 6 112
Emperor Xin dispatched him to guard Sanshan Pass in Deng Jiugong's place. Kong Xuan initially kept to his tent and avoided formal contact with the camp, prompting Tailuan's distrust. Deng Jiugong nevertheless recognized his extraordinary origins and concealed strength, bringing him into the command structure as Deputy Marshal. 6 15
Kong Xuan originally fought cautiously to avoid provoking the Saints. He captured rather than killed enemies and hid his cultivation behind the guise of an ordinary mounted general, believing that openly offending the Chan Sect would draw the attention of Primordial Heavenly Venerate and other Saints. 11 16
Appearance
Kong Xuan usually appears as a young, composed general despite his immense age. In battle, he rides a warhorse and wields a Crescent Blade; his true form is a vast five-colored peacock. 6 10 167
- Youthful appearance that belies his countless years of life. 6
- Often presents himself as a modest mortal general, suppressing his mana and aura. 10 11
- True form is a multicolored peacock with substantially greater physical strength and defense. 167
- His five-colored peacock form is closely associated with his Five-Colored Divine Light and Five Elements Law. 166 167
Personality
Kong Xuan is reserved, humble in manner, and initially determined to remain unnoticed. He does not seek recognition or official titles, accepting the Deputy Marshal post only as a formality. His reluctance to kill Chan Sect disciples stems not from weakness, but from a practical fear of attracting Saint-level retaliation. 6 11 15
Beneath that restraint, he is exceptionally proud. He values rare treasures and opportunities to improve, yet repeatedly resists Deng Jiugong's suggestion that he become a mount. His pride gradually gives way to loyalty as Deng Jiugong provides him with cultivation resources, formations, and treasures suited to the Five Elements. 109 129 157
As Marshal, Kong Xuan is demanding and severe toward his subordinates. He forces generals to endure the Heaven and Earth Furnace's refinement in order to improve their foundations and cultivation, showing little sympathy for their suffering. 104 105
