"The previous match was absolutely thrilling! Thank you to Tien Shinhan and Mercenary Tao for that fierce showdown! Now, let's move on to the second match! Everyone, please watch closely!" The Referee on the stage spoke again with an energetic voice. "The second match pits last tournament's runner-up, Son Goku, against an anonymous female contestant! This lady has chosen not to reveal her name, so we'll refer to her as such. Now, let's welcome both fighters to the stage!"
Son Goku and a woman with a ponytail stepped onto the arena from opposite sides.
Goku wore his usual expression of curiosity and ease.
The female contestant, however, looked thoroughly displeased, her lips pouted high and her eyes blazing with obvious anger as she glared at Goku.
"Why are you always so mad? Did I do something to upset you?" Goku scratched his head, genuinely puzzled by the girl's furious demeanor, and asked bluntly.
"Ask yourself!" The woman snorted through her nose, turning her head away as if even more irritated.
"I still don't get it!" Goku grew even more confused, racking his memory but coming up empty. "Have we met? Are you mistaking me for someone else?"
"I'm not mistaken!" The woman whipped her head back, glaring at Goku with a huff, and enunciated each word, "You! Are Son Goku, right?"
"Who is that girl? She seems to have a real grudge against Goku." Yamcha muttered quietly, watching the scene on the stage.
"This is ridiculous! When did Goku ever get involved with a girl like that?" Krillin rubbed his smooth chin, equally baffled.
"What are they mumbling about? They seem familiar?" Blonde Launch crossed her arms, looking thoroughly entertained.
"Looks like they know each other." Broly paused his chewing of Potato Chips, a rare thoughtful expression crossing his face as he scrutinized the female contestant. "That girl... looks a bit familiar. I think I've seen her somewhere?"
"Hmph!" Blonde Launch heard Broly finally speak to her voluntarily, even if it was about another girl, but she seized the moment, grinning widely and declaring triumphantly, "You finally talked to me! Awesome! This three-year cold war is my win! Hahaha!"
Broly: "..."
Broly stared blankly at Blonde Launch, who had suddenly become hyperactive, briefly stunned.
Then, as if struck by a brilliant idea, Broly casually grabbed a pepper-flavored Potato Chip and, with lightning speed, shoved it under Blonde Launch's nose.
"Ah--choo!"
A sharp, irritating scent hit her nostrils. Caught off guard, Blonde Launch let out a thunderous sneeze!
"Slap!"
In an instant, Launch's dazzling golden hair seemed to wash clean, reverting to a soft blue!
The fierceness and sharpness in her eyes receded like a tide, replaced by a gentle tenderness.
Her entire demeanor seamlessly shifted from a delinquent punk to a demure young woman.
Yet, after turning back into the blue-haired girl, a gentle blush rose on Launch's face. Naturally and affectionately, she reached out to hook her arm around Broly's sturdy one, resting her head lightly on his shoulder, looking like a picture of sweet, clinging happiness.
Only then did Broly feel the air around him was fresher and more pleasant. He nodded in satisfaction and continued crunching on his Potato Chips.
This version of Launch—the one who could cook and had a gentle personality—was much nicer to look at.
Master Roshi was already used to Broly's antics and just shook his head helplessly.
But Bulma, Yamcha, and Krillin were all staring wide-eyed, stunned by the bizarre yet harmonious dynamic between the two, their minds full of complaints they didn't know where to start.
Meanwhile, the second match on the stage officially began.
"Hmph!" The anonymous female contestant was clearly still fuming. With a sharp cry, she stamped her foot and shot forward like lightning, launching a fierce attack on Goku!
Her fists and kicks carried force, her moves sharp—clearly, she had solid skills.
Goku, relying on his extraordinary reflexes and agile footwork, moved as if strolling through a garden, effortlessly dodging the girl's onslaught while persistently pressing her: "Hey, wait! Where have I seen you before? Can you give me a hint?"
"You've seen me!" The girl attacked while gritting out the words through her teeth.
"When? Where?" Goku latched onto the clue, pressing further.
"You're infuriating! You've forgotten everything completely—how outrageous!" Seeing that Goku truly had no memory, the girl grew angrier with every word, her attacks becoming more ferocious as she chased him around the ring, as if nursing a mortal grudge. "You don't understand a girl's heart at all! Do you know how I've spent these three years? I've been waiting for this day!"
"What is it? Can you just say it plainly?" Goku was even more lost, flailing like a headless chicken.
The other spectators craned their necks and perked up their ears, curious about what this mysterious female contestant was trying to say.
"You forgot our promise!" The girl, unable to land a hit, stomped her foot in frustration and shouted sharply.
"What promise did I make with you?" Goku stopped, standing still, looking at her with an innocent, bewildered expression.
"How strange..." Master Roshi, watching the girl's fighting stance and power techniques from the stands, stroked his beard thoughtfully. "This girl's combat skills—both her footwork and punching rhythm—have the foundation of our Turtle School... though mixed with some other styles."
"What exactly did we promise? Tell me, I'm dying to know!" Goku clasped his hands together in a pleading gesture.
"We promised!" The girl took a deep breath, as if summoning all her strength, and shouted loudly and clearly at Goku and the entire audience, "That you would marry me!"
"Huh?!"
The words dropped like a boulder into a calm lake!
Master Roshi, Bulma, Krillin, and Yamcha's eyes went wide, jaws nearly hitting the floor!
Even Broly, who had been munching away, stopped and looked over with curiosity.
Krillin and Yamcha jumped up in shock, their faces full of disbelief.
Goku fell silent, frowning as if digging through the depths of his memory for something forgotten.
"Hmph, you're starting to remember, aren't you?" The girl, seeing Goku's silence, thought he was finally recalling something, and snorted, her tone softening slightly.
But the next second, Goku abruptly turned his head toward Krillin in the backstage area and asked in a deadly serious, inquisitive tone, "Krillin! Quick, tell me—what does 'marry' mean?"
