Overview

A Martial Soul is the innate power awakened by a Soul Master. It determines a Soul Master's basic attributes, combat direction, compatibility with soul rings, and potential growth path. Awakening also grants Soul Power; Soul Masters develop physically faster than ordinary people after this point because Soul Power nourishes and stimulates the body. 5

Martial Souls may manifest as beasts, weapons, celestial bodies, body parts, or more unusual forms. Their quality, bloodline, attribute purity, and compatibility with the user all affect their ultimate potential. 106 161

Awakening

Martial Souls are awakened through a process that communicates with the world. In the Dragon Elephant Sect, an awakening formation inherited from the Martial Soul Hall era stimulates the hidden bloodline within the recipient's flesh and blood. 1 162

An awakening may visibly alter the Soul Master immediately. When Chen Ming awakened the Vajra Dragon Elephant, he grew dragon horns and claws, his body expanded, and the pressure of his Martial Soul suppressed the Martial Souls of those around him. 1

Innate Soul Power

The amount of Soul Power possessed upon awakening is known as Innate Soul Power.

• Innate Full Soul Power allows a Soul Master to begin cultivation from the highest possible initial foundation. 5
• It does not remove the need for training, body tempering, or Soul Power control. Attempting to absorb a soul ring without knowing how to circulate and stabilize Soul Power can be fatal. 5

Beast Martial Souls

Beast Martial Souls are based on creatures and commonly enhance the user's physique during Martial Soul Possession. The greater the degree of beastification, the stronger the Martial Soul is generally considered to be. 127

• Common examples within the Dragon Elephant Sect include the Diamond Mammoth and White Armored Earth Dragon. 2

Martial Souls are not limited to beasts or the body.
