Background and Succession

The empire’s core Soul Master force includes nine Titled Douluo loyal to Star Luo. Their support matters to Xu Jiawei’s decisions: he cannot simply command every enshrined elder by virtue of being emperor 1.

Facing the Sun Moon Empire’s growing Soul Tool capabilities, Xu Jiawei proposes committing the nation’s resources to Gu Tian’s cultivation. After the Sky Curtain depicts Gu Tian as a future Star Luo Emperor who restores the empire and unifies the continent, Xu Jiawei names him first heir and states his intention to abdicate when the time is right. Xu Jiawei also hopes a marriage between Gu Tian and his sister Xu Jiujiu will keep the Xu bloodline in the succession 1 2 6.

Military and Soul Tools

• Hall of Enshrinement — Ye Yu, the Azure Luan Douluo, leads the hall and is a level 97 Super Douluo. The empire’s enshrined Titled Douluo defend the palace and protect Gu Tian 1 21 28.
• First Soul Master Legion — Commanded by Xuanji Douluo; it is responsible for defending against the Sun Moon Empire’s main forces 1 38.
• Soul Tool development — Star Luo has invested in Soul Tools, but its research initially trails both the Sun Moon Empire and Shrek Academy; its strongest Soul Tool specialist has only recently reached Rank 8 12.
• Projected future Soul Tool Department — The Sky Curtain credits Meng Hongchen’s department with improving soldiers’ equipment and building defenses capable of withstanding gods below the God King level. It also identifies several future members recruited from the Sun Moon Empire, including Kong Deming and Jing Hongchen 12.

Major Events

• Assassination and infiltration: The Sun Moon Empire and Holy Spirit Cult plot to kill Gu Tian, using Luo Yun, Star Luo’s Imperial Guard commander, as an inside agent. After Evil Soul Masters infiltrate the palace, Luo Yun is exposed and arrested. Star Luo then circulates a false account of the battle to conceal the Ultimate Emperor Armor’s power 19 26.
• Dispute with Shrek Academy: Although Star Luo forms an alliance with Shrek, its leaders resist Xuan Zi’s attempts to take Gu Tian to the academy. They later insist that Gu Tian decide for himself and that Shrek cut down the Golden Ancient Tree before he enrolls 19 28 78.
• Body Sect confrontation: When Du Busi seeks Huo Yutong in Star Luo Imperial City, Ye Yu refuses to hand over an imperial citizen. Du Busi subsequently agrees to move the Body Sect into Star Luo territory, while Huo Yutong becomes his disciple 64 69 70.
• Projected unification and divine conflict: Sky Curtain scenes portray Gu Tian’s future Star Luo Empire unifying the Douluo Continent, fighting forces from the God Realm, and ultimately annexing the God Realm 2 85 102 122.

Relationships

• Sun Moon Empire — Rival power whose Soul Tools concern Xu Jiawei; it plants agents in Star Luo and cooperates with the Holy Spirit Cult against Gu Tian 1 19.
• Shrek Academy — An ally in protecting Gu Tian, but also a competitor for his allegiance and education 19 28 78.
• Holy Spirit Cult — Organizes an assassination attempt against Gu Tian inside the imperial palace 19 21.
• Body Sect — Initially confronts Star Luo over Huo Yutong; Du Busi later agrees to relocate the sect into Star Luo territory 64 70.
