Laozi raised a hand to stop her question.
He closed his eyes and sent his Spiritual Sense into the underlying Laws of the Earth Immortal Realm.
Those Laws were like a vast net, every Silken Thread trembling.
He traced the threads upward, following them back to the source of the net: the Purple Sky Palace.
Opening his eyes, Laozi lightly tapped the void.
An image appeared above Supreme Purity Peak.
In the Earth Immortal Realm, countless mortals worked in the fields, traded in the cities, argued in their homes, and entwined on their beds.
Above each of their heads floated a wisp of gray-black mist, so faint it was nearly invisible.
Su Miao stared at the mist, and her heart skipped a beat.
Laozi withdrew his hand, and the image vanished.
"The seven emotions and six desires within those mortals are more abundant and heavier than those of the Human Race in the Prehistoric World."
Su Miao frowned. She did not quite understand what that conclusion meant.
"The seven emotions and six desires within the mortals of the Earth Immortal Realm are more abundant and heavier than those of the Human Race in the Prehistoric World,"
Laozi explained.
"Their emotions are more intense, their desires stronger, and Inner Demons are more likely to arise.
For the same matter, a member of the Human Race in the Prehistoric World might only act on a momentary impulse, while a mortal of the Earth Immortal Realm would become trapped in it and be unable to break free."
A chill crept up Su Miao's spine.
"Why is that?"
Laozi did not answer directly.
He raised his head and glanced at the sky.
Su Miao understood instantly.
"Was it him again?"
Laozi nodded.
"He injected excessive demonic nature into the Earth Immortal Realm.
