| Gender | Male |
| Affiliation | Western Teachings |
| Occupation/Role | Saint of the Western Teachings |
| Status | Active; last seen withdrawing with Jieyin after the Western Teachings' humiliation at Jiepai Pass 143 |
| First Appearance | Chapter 19 |
Appearance
Zhunti is frequently described as wearing an expression of suffering, though his face turns openly pleased when a scheme appears profitable. During covert operations, he alters his form to avoid recognition. 26
- Can disguise himself as a short, shifty-eyed Daoist. 26
- Manifests the Sixteen-Foot Golden Body, a golden Dharma body with twenty-four heads and eighteen arms bearing numerous treasures. 29
- Carries the Seven Treasures Wonderful Tree, whose seven-colored light is capable of sweeping away magical treasures. 29
Personality
Zhunti is opportunistic, acquisitive, and highly pragmatic. He consistently treats the Investiture of the Gods calamity and the conflict between the Eastern sects as opportunities to expand the Western Teachings, acquire disciples, and seize treasures. He repeatedly frames recruitment as an individual's “affinity” with the West, even when his real motive is profit. 19 26 119 141
His greed often overrides his caution. Although initially wary of Nuwa's interference at the Nine Bends Yellow River Formation, he accepts her proposal to convert the crippled Twelve Golden Immortals after she offers their fortune and magical treasures as incentives. 48 49 56 He is also quick to abandon a failed objective: when Randeng takes the Sea Calming Divine Beads and Qiankun Ruler, Zhunti immediately pursues the treasures and leaves the gravely wounded Zhao Gongming behind. 30
Despite being a Saint, Zhunti becomes uneasy when faced with forces he cannot identify or control. Nuwa's concealed intervention causes him to abandon repeated infiltration attempts, while Shen Zhaochi's manipulation of Manjushri leaves him furious but unable to retaliate. 49 50 142 143

Saintly Magical Power
As a Saint, Zhunti possesses overwhelming magical power and pressure that ordinarily surpasses Quasi-Saints.
- Condenses giant golden palms capable of suppressing Quasi-Saints. 29
- Manifests the Sixteen-Foot Golden Body to unleash greater Saintly pressure and power. 29
- Zhao Gongming's twenty-four Sea Calming Divine Beads briefly resisted and pushed back one of his initial palm strikes. 29
- His attempt to strike the Nine Bends Yellow River Formation was blocked when Taishang's Taiji Diagram dissolved his golden hand. 57
Seven Treasures Wonderful Tree
Zhunti's Dao-proving treasure emits seven-colored divine light that suppresses and captures magical treasures.
- Stripped Zhao Gongming of the Sea Calming Divine Beads, Sky-Turning Seal, Yin Yang Mirror, Qiankun Ruler, and Dragon Binding Rope. 29
- Protects targets through seven-colored auspicious light, as shown when he sheltered Manjushri from Spirit Particle Beams. 141
- Its seized treasures can be knocked free by the Treasure Dropping Golden Coin. 30
Concealment and Infiltration
Zhunti is capable of suppressing his aura and moving covertly even in dangerous Saint-level conflicts.
- Transformed his appearance alongside Jieyin before traveling east to target Zhao Gongming. 26
- Concealed his aura and attempted to penetrate the Nine Bends Yellow River Formation without alerting its masters. 49
- Used a trace of Saintly origin to render himself effectively formless and free of dust and karma. 49
- Nuwa's Mountain River Society Map prevented his divine sense from probing the area and made infiltration impossible without directly confronting her. 50
Conversion and Recruitment
Zhunti specializes in persuading—or forcibly bringing—cultivators into the Western Teachings.
- Offered Zhao Gongming safety from the calamity, merit, and a possible path to sainthood in exchange for joining the West. 28
- Planned to take Zhao Gongming to the Eight Treasures Merit Pool after Zhao Gongming rejected him. 30
- Sought to convert the crippled Twelve Golden Immortals and claim their magical treasures for the Western Teachings. 56
- Demanded the right to convert Intercepting Sect disciples and recruit Randeng as conditions for aiding Yuanshi. 119
- Rescued Manjushri during the battle at Jiepai Pass and declared him connected to the Western Teachings. 141 142

Story Role / Major Arcs
Scheme for the Twenty-Four Heavens
Zhunti and Jieyin identify Zhao Gongming's Sea Calming Divine Beads and Qiankun Ruler as the means to establish the Twenty-Four Heavens and stabilize the Western Teachings' fortune. They wait for Zhao Gongming to leave Golden Ao Island, disguise themselves, and travel east to act without attracting attention. 19 26
Zhunti approaches Zhao Gongming with an offer to join the Western Teachings, warning him that he will otherwise die in the Investiture of the Gods calamity. Zhao Gongming refuses outright, prompting Zhunti to attack, manifest his Golden Body, and strip away Zhao Gongming's treasures. 28 29
Before Zhunti can secure his prize, the Treasure Dropping Golden Coin dislodges the Sea Calming Divine Beads and Qiankun Ruler. Randeng takes both treasures, and Zhunti abandons Zhao Gongming to pursue Randeng. 30
Nine Bends Yellow River Formation
Zhunti later attempts to infiltrate the Nine Bends Yellow River Formation to steal the magical treasures of the crippled Twelve Golden Immortals and bring them into the Western Teachings. His repeated attempts are stopped by a sense of danger and Nuwa's concealed use of the Mountain River Society Map. 48 49 50
After Nuwa publicly exposes him, she offers him the Twelve Golden Immortals and their treasures as potential recruits. Zhunti accepts despite the political risk, allowing greed for fortune, talent, and magical treasures to overcome his initial caution. 56
Dao Ancestor Hongjun subsequently condemns Zhunti for coveting Eastern fortune and interfering in the Mystic Gate's affairs, placing all six Saints under house arrest until the calamity concludes. 64
Alliance with Yuanshi
When Yuanshi seeks Western assistance against the Intercepting Sect, Zhunti treats the request as another expansion opportunity. He demands three hundred proper divine positions, the right to convert captured Intercepting Sect disciples, and Randeng's transfer to the Western Teachings; Yuanshi reluctantly agrees. 119
Jiepai Pass and Manjushri
During the final battle, Zhunti and Jieyin intervene to protect Manjushri from the Intercepting Sect's Spirit Particle weapons. Zhunti claims that Manjushri has an affinity with the West and attempts to recruit him. 141 142
Shen Zhaochi allows Zhunti to keep Manjushri, then uses the Investiture of the Gods to strip Manjushri's fortune, foundation, and comprehension of the Great Dao. Zhunti is left humiliated, while Jieyin chooses retreat over risking further losses. 142 143
Notable Quotes

“Today, I'll let you know what it means when I say, ‘I decide what your affinity is’.” — Shen Zhaochi to Zhunti. 142
