Background

Tang Ya was the last survivor of the Tang Sect after the Iron Blood Sect destroyed it and murdered her parents. Grief-stricken but determined to take revenge and restore the sect, she met Ye Chen in Heaven Dou City after Mu En entrusted him with bringing her back. 43 44

When Tang Ya confronted the Iron Blood Sect, her hatred caused black, devouring energy to surface from her Blue Silver Grass. Ye Chen defeated the sect's master and disciples, allowing Tang Ya to execute the culprits with hidden weapons. 45 46 She subsequently moved into Ye Chen's residence. 50

Initially, Tang Ya believed the Tang Sect's Blue Silver Grass practitioners should follow poison- and toughness-focused control techniques. Ye Chen persuaded her that this inherited doctrine was misguided and guided her toward the Life Path, which develops Blue Silver Grass through vitality and controlled life-force absorption. 51 52

Her innate devouring trait produced an evil aura, which left her afraid that others would regard her as an Evil Soul Master. Ye Chen assured her that morality depended on how power was used and promised to purify the aura after each absorption with his Light Soul Power. 51 52
