History

Purgatory Sulfur was selected for Benjamin by Noren Workshop following its survey and assessment. Mentor Clark described it as one of the foremost Demon Planes in the Eloria Plane Cluster: a vast, primitive world with frequent geological activity, active fire elements, and a physical surface area exceeding that of Eloria's main plane. 147

Benjamin received the plane as a reward for obtaining the highest contribution score during his trial on the Eloria Plane. It was his first independently controlled plane and the initial foundation for his planned Wizard Tower. 147 148

Benjamin reached the plane through a permanent teleportation point established by Noren Workshop. Its former high-ranking demon inhabitants had already been removed during the Wizards' cleansing operation, leaving abandoned caves, damaged stone palaces, and other ruins across the volcanic landscape. 148

Benjamin began its development by hiring a construction and survey team to map mineral veins, establish an initial base, install protective facilities, and prepare the plane for larger projects. The first major renovation flattened a volcanic region and replaced it with a city-sized expanse of refined, mirror-smooth metal flooring linked to reserved energy nodes and formation interfaces. 150 156

The initial development strained Benjamin's finances: his remaining points covered only the construction team's deposit, and he spent a month producing and selling Adamantine through Noren Workshop to fund the work. The metal foundation incorporated amplifying structures for future plane-wide formations, while more advanced Plane Origin-related functions required him to reach Level 6. 150 156

A Level 7 Large Elemental Pool was later embedded into the plane. Its arrival caused atmospheric upheaval and gave the sky a second luminous body comparable to a blazing sun. 243

After reaching the Golden Core Realm, Benjamin commissioned the second and third phases of comprehensive transformation from Noren Workshop. These upgraded the infrastructure and energy-transmission network and established plane-wide collection and dispatch of projected elemental energy; both phases were subsequently completed and delivered for his inspection. 279 286

After upgrading the plane-wide energy network, Benjamin repurposed its natural Divine Power Faith Network into an Incense Divinity Path. His long-term objective was to make the entire plane a world-scale laboratory for researching the Spirit Energy Law by converting its violent fire-aspected energy into refined Spirit Energy. 328

The addition and initial connection of the Elemental Pool intensified the plane's volcanic activity, turning much of its surface into a near-continuous magma sea. Over the following century, Black Giant communities spread across the molten landscape while the Incense Divinity Path steadily expanded. 336 338

Benjamin later established the Fate System as an Incense Divinity Path subsystem. Its final tests demonstrated plane-wide fate perception, short-term hazard prediction, and combat analysis, with a reported prediction accuracy of 99.98%. 549

To obtain Moonlight Essence for producing Lunar Nectar, Benjamin commissioned Alfred's formation team to alter the Level 7 Large Elemental Pool's projection into a nighttime, moonlike light source. He agreed to a cost of eight million low-grade Military Merit, paid a three-million advance, and prepared to back up the pool's core data before construction. 585

A decade after Benjamin brought back ten planes from a parallel world, engineering teams completed their fusion with Purgatory Sulfur. The resulting expansion raised it from a small plane to a medium plane. 613

During Benjamin's three-century Dao-Integration seclusion, the plane's Black Giant settlements developed into organized city clusters, the Incense Divinity Path's coverage and production efficiency increased, and the fused subordinate planes entered systematic environmental transformation. 680

The Tentacle Tree Civilization invaded Purgatory Sulfur with a fleet of more than a thousand warships. Benjamin allowed the fleet to enter through a deliberately weakened barrier, disabled its flagship, and immobilized the force before launching a counterinvasion through a plane-scale spatial rift. 685 689 693

Black Giants subsequently dismantled the captured warships under the Black Giant Priests' supervision while the vessels remained frozen in time. 690

Following the campaign, Purgatory Sulfur and the Tentacle Tree Plane entered a prolonged fusion process. Purgatory Sulfur became a continent-like region within the latter's starfield while their respective law systems slowly merged. 728 733

Benjamin later began formal fusion with Purgatory Sulfur's Plane Origin, using a plane-level spell array and his Law Solidification Domain to extend his control and conduct searches for unmarked planes within his authorized region of the Endless Chaotic Void. 768 771

During Benjamin's completion of the Dual Dharma Manifestation, the Plane Origin beneath the main continent responded first, drawing the plane's elemental tides toward his manifestation in cosmic space. His resulting five-hundred-kilometer true form could move freely outside the continent, but its presence strained the laboratory and made entry into small World Fragments unsafe, prompting him to plan further modifications. 775

Before leaving to support Augusta's forthcoming campaign, Benjamin sealed his laboratory on Purgatory Sulfur and departed through its Space Teleportation Array. 844

After the campaign against the Mushroom People, Benjamin returned to Purgatory Sulfur and confirmed that the Tentacle Tree Civilization's losses were repairable and that all casualties had been resurrected through the Dao Soldier System. He also secured captured Mushroom People for future Biological Modification research. 859

Benjamin later brought a Level 8 robot, mechanical fragments, and Level 7 technical materials to the Second Laboratory, assigning Hadar and a Plant-folk researcher to study the technology and develop innovations of their own. He also arranged for Viola to research the Level 9 Creation seized from the Octopus-folk. 903

During the operation against the Sacred Spirit plane cluster, Purgatory Sulfur served as a gathering point for more than twenty High-Rank Wizards and their Cannon Fodder Legions. Augusta and Mentor Clark continuously teleported troops into the space beyond the continent, where hundreds of billions of monsters assembled alongside Benjamin's own forces. 930

After the Sacred Spirit plane cluster's conquest, Benjamin organized its technologies, research records, remains, and resources for study and inspected Spirit Race breeding zones on Purgatory Sulfur. He instructed the Black Giant Priest in charge not to waste high-rank individuals. Months later, Viola informed him that Wizard Starfall would come to conduct a test, and he ordered his personnel to notify him upon her arrival. 955

Environment and Resources

Terrain and climate

Purgatory Sulfur is dominated by volcanoes, lava flows, charred rock, sulfurous gases, and dense ash clouds. Its air is hot enough to be dangerous without protection and carries a pungent sulfur smell that can penetrate the lungs. 148

Fire elementals are exceptionally active throughout the plane. In local elemental theory, fire represents energy itself; consequently, the density and aggression of free energy particles are unusually high, giving the plane enormous natural energy reserves. 148

The plane originally lacked a Water Elemental Plane projection and therefore had no natural moon. Its sky contained only the constant projection of the Fire Elemental Plane and, after installation, the luminous projection of the Level 7 Large Elemental Pool. 585

Benjamin commissioned modifications to the Elemental Pool's projection so that it would hide during the day and emit moonlight-like radiance at night, thereby establishing the concepts of night, moonlight, and Moonlight Essence within the plane. The work was intended to enable the production of Lunar Nectar for improving Dao Soldiers' aptitude. 585

After the ten-plane fusion, the sky remained ash-red, but the vault of heaven rose and the clouds thickened. Winds dispersed volcanic smoke more effectively, reducing the formerly persistent, suffocating accumulation. The newly added land included interwoven volcanic and sedimentary rock as well as barren desert regions used for testing. 613 623

Post-fusion spatial setting

Following its preliminary fusion with the Tentacle Tree Plane, Purgatory Sulfur exists as a vast continental region embedded within a universe-type plane containing extensive interstellar space. This integration also gave Benjamin's territorial system access to undeveloped planets suitable for settlement and environmental reconstruction. 728 733 760

The Tentacle Tree Plane contained fifty billion stars, providing the spatial and material basis for Benjamin's proposed stellar Incense Divinity Path subsystem. By the completion of his Dual Dharma Manifestation, Purgatory Sulfur's surrounding cosmic space extended hundreds of billions of light-years in diameter. 733 775

Several independent World Fragments float beyond the Purgatory Sulfur Continent. These ultraminiature planes, each only several dozen kilometers in diameter, store strange samples, high-risk experimental materials, and Reflected Dimension research specimens. 775

Mineral and energy resources

• Rocks can contain up to 90% metal content, making the plane functionally similar to a giant natural smelting furnace. 149

Benjamin maintains an ecological cultivation farm near the Level 7 Large Elemental Pool for exotic flowers and rare herbs. Environmental-control technology creates an independent ecosystem with suitable temperature, humidity, light, and elemental concentrations despite the surrounding sulfurous heat. The farm expanded his earlier garden many times over and supports the production of Flower Deity Malice. 458

Black Giants

Black Giants were deliberately bred as the plane's principal servant race because they can survive on lava and energy, possess high intelligence, and are suitable believers for the Incense Divinity Path. 329

Each commanded a large Cannon Fodder Legion, collectively filling the space beyond the continent with hundreds of billions of monsters. 930
