Chapter 472: Deployment

Over at Noren Workshop, the steel fortress was still continuously "growing."

This was not a figure of speech, but a description of fact.

Under the sustained work of several hundred Alchemy Department wizards, the fortress's outer walls were visibly thickening and rising.

Its original hundred-meter height had increased again. The walls were no longer simple pitch-black metal, but displayed the texture of complex composite materials.

The inner layer was an energy-absorbing honeycomb structure, the middle layer self-repairing memory metal, and the outer layer hardened alloy mixed with anti-magic powder.

But this was merely one node in Noren Workshop's defense system.

Looking out, with Fortress No. 7 at the center, steel bastions of similar styles yet differing details stood across the Gray-White Wasteland to either side, one every few dozen kilometers.

Every fortress was undergoing reinforcement work in tandem.

The wizards had never intended to fight separately from the start.

The million-strong wizard army dispatched by Noren Workshop had completed its rigorous organization before entering the plane.

The entire legion was divided into twelve "battle groups," each battle group commanding ten "brigades," and each brigade containing ten "squads."

The most basic combat unit was a "squad" of ten thousand Level 3 to Level 5 wizards, supported by several Level 6 wizards and led by at least one Level 7 wizard.

Fortress No. 7 was the defensive core of one such "squad."

According to the prewar requirements, the spell arrays of these fortresses would ultimately merge into one, forming an enormous war fortress.

At this moment, besides Logistics Department wizards like Benjamin within the fortress, even more wizards were carrying out other tasks across the wilderness.

"Third Ripple Trap Group, deployment complete."

"Seventh Void Minefield activated."

"Detection spore cluster release has reached the designated quantity. Beginning diffusion toward the
