Gluttony Ghost is an unusually colored member of the Gastly evolutionary line. As a Gengar, it is nearly pure white rather than ordinary dark purple, with a broad grin, a large mouth, and purple eyes. Gluttony Ghost is overwhelmingly food-motivated. It craves Life Energy, souls, Energy Cubes, unusual resources, and even powerful enemy attacks, frequently judging people and Pokémon by whether they look edible. Despite this appetite, it is highly selective: it rejects food it considers unpleasant, including Black Sludge, Awakening Fruits, and Aegislash's corrupted spirit body. 301 368 505 1111

It is lazy toward training unless its pride is involved. Beneath its greed, Gluttony Ghost is loyal to Fang Yuan. Background

Before Fang Yuan captured it, Gluttony Ghost lived in the Sun and Moon Forest Secret Realm. Ninetales Beauty identified it as the unusually colored “Gluttony Ghost,” while Fang Yuan recognized it as a Shiny Gastly and requested the chance to complete its capture test. 294 Fang Yuan later returned from the Secret Realm with it, learning that it was descended from the Millennium Gengar that ruled the area. 300

As a newly captured Gastly, it quickly revealed exceptional strength, a fascination with fire, and an appetite for Life Energy. Fang Yuan trained it in Ice-type energy, Mirror Coat, and Black Will-O-Wisp, while learning that its flame techniques consumed the Life Energy stored from Energy Cubes. 301 306

Gluttony Ghost's first evolution occurred during the Spirit World's Chandelure incident. Targeted as a source of delicious Life Energy, it entered a devouring contest against Chandelure, evolved into Haunter, and used Black Flame to consume Chandelure's Purple Will-O-Wisp. 352 355
